Diode laser photocoagulation of choroidal neovascular membranes

International Ophthalmology, 1996
Krypton or argon laser treatment of choroidal neovascularization (CNV) has been shown to be effective in reducing the incidence of severe visual loss. The usefulness of diode laser in the treatment of many chorioretinal disorders is currently under evaluation. Our study involved 42 eyes of 41 patients affected with CNV which were treated with a near ...

SUBFOVEAL CHOROIDAL NEOVASCULAR MEMBRANE IN THE SECOND TRIMESTER

RETINAL Cases & Brief Reports, 2011
To report the experience of treating a woman who presented with a subfoveal neovascular membrane during the fifth month of her second pregnancy.Case report. The visual acuity of the eye 1 month after 1 intravitreal injection of bevacizumab was 20/30 after the birth of her daughter.A woman presented with a subfoveal choroidal neovascular membrane during ...

Laser Treatment of Subfoveolar Choroidal Neovascular Membranes

Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Retina, 1991
ABSTRACT We prospectively studied the safety and efficacy of subfoveolar laser treatment of choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVM) in 29 eyes. With one to four treatments, all CNVMs were successfully eradicated. Central visual acuity improved in 31% and stabilized in 69%. Vision did not deteriorate in any of the eyes.

Present indications for removal of choroidal neovascular membranes

Current Opinion in Ophthalmology, 1998
Subretinal choroidal neovascularization is an important cause of visual loss in adults. Removal of choroidal neovascular membranes using relatively new techniques of subretinal surgery holds promise for improving or stabilizing vision in some patients.

Diagnostic Challenges in Inflammatory Choroidal Neovascular Membranes

Ocular Immunology and Inflammation, 2016
To describe the clinical presentations of inflammatory choroidal neovascular membranes (CNVMs) and factors leading to their delayed diagnosis.Retrospective analysis of chart records and digital images of 60 patients (73 eyes) with inflammatory CNVM (January 1998 to December 2013) to obtain demographic and clinical details, particularly the time of the ...

The Management of Subfoveal Choroidal Neovascular Membranes and Hemorrhage

Seminars in Ophthalmology, 2000
At the beginning of the past decade (1990), the Macular Photocoagulation Studies (MPS) were underway evaluating the efficacy of the treatment of subfoveal choroidal neovascularization (CNV) with conventional lasers. When this proved to limit the loss of vision and give little chance for improving vision, vitreoretinal surgeons turned to surgical ...
