Vitreous Hemorrhage in Posterior Uveal Melanocytoma: Two Case Reports

open access: yesCase Reports in Ophthalmological Medicine, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
Purpose: We describe the diagnostic challenge by melanocytomas originating from locations other than the optic nerve. Methods: This is a retrospective case report of two patients who presented with vitreous hemorrhage with underlying melanocytomas.

Fundus Angiography for Diagnosis of Choroidal Tumors.

open access: yesJournal of Health Science and Medical Research (JHSMR), 2010
Information from both ophthalmoscopic examination and investigation are crucial in giving a diagnosis of choroidal tumors. Fundus angiography is a novel investigative tool that yields parti- cular characteristics  in different kinds of tumors, especially

Review of spectral domain enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography of tumors of the choroid

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology, 2015
Background: Spectral domain enhanced depth imaging optical coherence tomography (EDI-OCT) can provide anatomic localization of intraocular tumors. Aims: The aim was to identify topographical and intrinsic patterns of choroidal tumors on EDI-OCT. Settings

Adeno‐associated virus vectors for gene therapy—focusing on melanoma

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 4, October 2024.
In recent years, gene therapy has become an important breakthrough in the field of gene therapy. AAV vector, which can be expressed in vivo for a long time, has low toxicity, low immunogenicity and high tissue specificity, showing strong potential in gene therapy.

In vivo Raman spectroscopic and fluorescence study of suspected melanocytic lesions and surrounding healthy skin

open access: yesJournal of Biophotonics, Volume 17, Issue 8, August 2024.
Raman spectroscopy was used for noninvasive diagnosis of skin melanoma. With spectra data containing autofluorescence, machine learning obtained higher accuracy to classify different skin lesions compared to the pure Raman spectra data without autofluorescence.

Cysts and tumours of the iris: Diagnostic tools and key management considerations—A review

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 52, Issue 6, Page 665-683, August 2024.
Abstract The iris is a unique structure, with exquisite variations in colour and form. Pathological changes, specifically including iris cysts and tumours are relatively uncommon, difficult to diagnose, and yet potentially blinding or life‐threatening.

Flat choroidal melanoma masquerading as central serous chorioretinopathy

open access: yesOman Journal of Ophthalmology, 2016
There are several mimickers of choroidal melanoma. We report a patient with recent family stress who developed blurred vision to 20/50 OD and was found to have unilateral central serous chorioretinopathy and a coincidental choroidal nevus.

PAMM and the ischemic cascade associated with radiation retinopathy

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Ophthalmology Case Reports, 2020
Purpose: To report a case of paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) and evidence of the ischemic cascade documented with spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) following radiation treatment of a choroidal melanoma.
