Choroidal vascularity index in pseudoexfoliative glaucoma
International Ophthalmology, 2021To evaluate choroidal vascular involvement in pseudoexfoliative glaucoma (PEXG) by applying the choroidal vascularity index (CVI) to optic coherence tomography (OCT) images.Seventy-eight eyes from 40 subjects were included the study. Group 1 included healthy eyes (n = 20), group 2 eyes with PEX (n = 16), and group 3 eyes with PEXG (n = 42). OCT imaging

Choroidal thickness and choroidal vascular index in childhood malnutrition
NutritionMalnutrition is a global health issue affecting growth and systemic health in children, yet its impact on the choroid-a vascular layer essential for retinal nourishment-remains underexplored. This study evaluates the choroidal vascular index (CVI) and choroidal thickness in malnourished children compared to healthy controls using optical coherence ...

Senile Choroidal Vascular Patterns and Drusen
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1963The laminar structure of the eye has provided a unique opportunity to study such structures as retinal vessels, corneal and trabecular endothelium, lens epithelium, and retinal pigment epithelium in flat mounts. Depigmented choroid has also been studied in whole mounts, but to our knowledge, no study has been made heretofore of flat mounts which permit

Choroidal Vascular Changes in Toxemia of Pregnancy
American Journal of Ophthalmology, 1980Twenty-seven patients with toxemia of pregnancy were examined during a postpartum period of two days to eight months. Five of these manifested abnormal photographic and angiographic findings including disk and retinal edema, retinal striae, deep retinal yellow-white focal lesions, choroidal nonfilling, leakage of dye from the optic disk and deep ...

Cryptic vascular malformation of the choroid plexus
Surgical Neurology, 1981A 45-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman with cryptic vascular malformations of the choroid plexus in the lateral ventricle are reported. Each patient had an intraventricular hematoma, located in the right trigone and in the anterior part of the left lateral ventricle, respectively. The vascular lesion of one patient was angiographically visualized as

International Ophthalmology
This study aims to evaluate the characteristics of choroidal thickness (CT), choroidal vascular diameter (CVD), and choroidal vascularity index (CVI) in a healthy population using swept-source optical coherence tomography (SS-OCT).This cross-sectional study included 148 eyes from 74 healthy adults. SS-OCT was used to evaluate choroid.

SILENT OCCULT CHOROIDAL VASCULAR ABNORMALITIES
Retina, 1999To describe clinically occult choroidal vascular abnormalities that can be revealed by indocyanine green (ICG) angiography.Out of approximately 2,700 patients who underwent ICG angiography, a lesion was incidentally observed in eight eyes of eight patients.

Response of choroidal vascular resistance to hyperglycemia
International Ophthalmology, 1983We measured choroidal blood flow in cats by determining the rate of clearance of indocyanine green dye from the choroidal circulation. Measurements were made by rapidly injecting indocyanine green dye into the common carotid artery and photoelectrically monitoring its concentration in the superior anterior ciliary vein.

[Choroidal vascular occlusion].
Der Ophthalmologe : Zeitschrift der Deutschen Ophthalmologischen Gesellschaft, 2011Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic, relapsing and remitting autoimmune disease of unknown etiology. As in other rheumatic diseases sicca syndrome is often present. Additionally retinal vascular pathologies such as cotton wool spots and intraretinal hemorrhages are present in 7-8% of patients with SLE.

Choroidal vascular aneurysm with massive choroidal hemorrhage.
Annals of ophthalmology, 1992A rare case of a choroidal vascular aneurysm arising from the short posterior ciliary artery is reported in a 40-year-old woman. The aneurysm was detected by fluorescein angiography. It caused recurrent choroidal hemorrhage with blindness as the outcome. The diagnosis of aneurysm would have been missed without fluorescein angiography.
