A Machine Learning Model for Interpretable PECVD Deposition Rate Prediction

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
This study develops six machine learning models (k‐nearest neighbors, support vector regression, decision tree, random forest, CatBoost, and backpropagation neural network) to predict SiNx deposition rates in plasma‐enhanced chemical vapor deposition using hybrid production and simulation data.

SuperResNET: Model‐Free Single‐Molecule Network Analysis Software Achieves Molecular Resolution of Nup96

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
SuperResNET is a powerful integrated software that reconstructs network architecture and molecular distribution of subcellular structures from single molecule localization microscopy datasets. SuperResNET segments the nuclear pore complex and corners, extracts size, shape, and network features of all segmented nuclear pores and uses modularity analysis

Routing Optimization of Cable‐Driven Octopus‐Inspired Manipulators With Minimal Actuation via Genetic Algorithm and Finite Element Method

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Soft robotic arms are promising for gentle grasping but often rely on bulky actuation systems. This work presents a computational design framework that optimizes tendon number and routing to achieve target grasps with fewer actuators. Validated on an octopus‐inspired underwater arm, the approach enables efficient, underactuated soft manipulators for ...

One‐Dimensional Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons Incorporating Multiple Dithiafulvene Units—Novel Multi‐Redox and Electrochromic Systems

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Planar polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) incorporating three or four dithiafulvene (DTF) units were synthesized via Horner–Wadsworth–Emmons reactions to create large π‐conjugated redox‐active frameworks. These molecules display strong intermolecular associations and distinct odd–even redox behavior, enabling formation of mixed‐valence and radical‐

Seeds of change: The impact of Ethiopia's direct seed marketing approach on smallholders' seed purchases and productivity

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract While multiple factors explain low adoption rates of improved varieties by small‐scale farmers in sub‐Saharan Africa, a key supply‐side constraint is the limited availability of seed embodying new traits in the volume, quality, price, and timeliness required by farmers. This constraint is partly attributable to classical failures in the market

Stoicism and Christian Ethics

open access: yesSt Andrews Encyclopaedia of Theology, 2022
It is widely accepted that the Stoics had a decisive influence on historical Christian thought, particularly Christian ethics. But the nature of this influence is contested among contemporary scholars.

Redistributive land reforms, agricultural productivity, and structural change: New cross‐national evidence

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Large‐scale land reforms constitute a substantial redistribution of wealth and reallocation of agricultural land, which is a major form of asset and production input in developing countries. While land redistribution (from the rich to the poor) remains a highly controversial issue, extensive evidence on its effect is limited.

Christian humanism, progressive Christianity and social transformation [PDF]

open access: yesJournal for the Study of Religion, 2018
This article explores my understanding of Christian humanism in conversation with Martin Prozesky's notion of progressive Christianity and their relevance for social transformation. Central to the conversation is how we understand the role of creeds and confessions in Christian faith, and the significance of the confession that Jesus, the truly human ...
