Tunable GST metasurfaces for chromatic aberration compensation in the mid-infrared

Optical Materials, 2020
Metasurfaces for chromatic aberration compensation have attracted a lot of research attentions since almost all imaging systems suffer from the intrinsic dispersion of composite materials and the chromatic aberration.

Camera Processing With Chromatic Aberration

IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2014
Since the refractive index of materials commonly used for lens depends on the wavelengths of light, practical camera optics fail to converge light to a single point on an image plane. Known as chromatic aberration, this phenomenon distorts image details by introducing magnification error, defocus blur, and color fringes.

Macular pigment and chromatic aberration

Journal of the Optical Society of America, 1974
The size of the blur circle due to chromatic aberration in daylight is calculated. The spectral transmittance necessary to reduce the resultant penumbra to a threshold level is computed. The characteristics of such an ideal filter are similar to the transmittance of the macular pigment found in the human eye.

Chromatic-aberration-free multispectral optical-resolution photoacoustic microscopy using reflective optics and a supercontinuum light source.

Applied Optics, 2021
A supercontinuum (SC) light source enables multispectral photoacoustic imaging at excitation wavelengths in the visible-to-near-infrared range. However, for such a broad optical wavelength range, chromatic aberration is non-negligible.

Simultaneous Demosaicing and Chromatic Aberration Correction through Spectral Reconstruction

Canadian Conference on Computer and Robot Vision, 2020
We present an algorithm for simultaneously demosaicing digital images, and correcting chromatic aberration, that operates in terms of spectral bands. Chromatic aberration depends on both the camera’s optical system, and on the spectral characteristics of

The Role of Chromatic Aberration in Vision.

Annual Review of Vision Science
The study of biological optics would be complicated enough if light only came in a single wavelength. However, altering the wavelength (or distribution of wavelengths) of light has multiple effects on optics, including on diffraction, scattering (of ...

Longitudinal Chromatic Aberration and Polychromatic Image Quality Metrics of Intraocular Lenses.

Journal of refractive surgery, 2018
PURPOSE To measure longitudinal chromatic aberration (LCA) of various intraocular lenses (IOLs) and to assess LCA effects on polychromatic image quality with a focus on multifocal IOL designs. METHODS The LCA values of four multifocal IOL models (three

Retinoscopy and chromatic aberration

Experientia, 1979
The origin of the apparent farsightedness as revealed by retinoscopy in smaller eyes was investigated by using monochromatic retinoscopy on wild rabbits. Our results indicate that a combination of long wavelength light and chromatic aberration of the subject's dioptrics is the major source of this artifact.
