Optimizing stereo‐baited remote underwater video sampling efficiency in turbid waters through horizontal field of view adjustments

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography: Methods, EarlyView.
Abstract Accurate length data underpin many ecological and physiological analyses, from assessing population size structure to parameterizing biomass and bioenergetic models. Stereo‐baited remote underwater video systems (stereo‐BRUVs) provide a non‐intrusive means of collecting these data in situ, supporting management and conservation of motile ...

Image-based maturity detection for selective cauliflower harvesting in field condition

open access: yesSmart Agricultural Technology
The traditional manual cauliflower harvesting is common worldwide, constituting up to 50 % of production expenses due to its labor-intensive nature. Furthermore, since all cauliflower fruits do not mature simultaneously, multiple harvests are required ...

Gradient‐Structured Polymer Fiber Mats for Broadly Tunable Multicolor and White Lasing

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Hierarchically engineered electrospun fiber mats containing separated red, green, and blue dyes enable highly tunable multicolor and white random lasing. Spatially controlled dye distribution suppresses energy transfer, allowing precise color adjustment across wide color gamuts and accurate reproduction of daylight white standards.

Compensating spherical and chromatic aberrations of ultrafast electron microscopes with laser beams

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Aberration correction is crucial for achieving atomic resolution in electron microscopy. While conventional correctors use multipolar electron lenses, our work explores a fundamentally different approach tailored specifically for ultrafast electron ...

Design of optical system for binocular fundus camera

open access: yesComputer Assisted Surgery, 2017
A non-mydriasis optical system for binocular fundus camera has been designed in this paper. It can capture two images of the same fundus retinal region from different angles at the same time, and can be used to achieve three-dimensional reconstruction of

Dual‐Metasurface‐Integrated Fiber Array for Bidirectional Cylindrical‐Vector‐Beam Multiplexed Communication Using Off‐Axis Spatial Manipulation

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A dual‐layer metasurface is integrated on a fiber‐array facet to realize compact, plug‐and‐play free‐space optical links with cylindrical vector beam (CVB) space‐division multiplexing. An optimized off‐axis collimation layer steers multiple channels, while a Dammann vortex layer performs polarization–topology conversion for bidirectional CVB (de ...
