CHROMATIC DISPERSION IN OPTICAL COMMUNICATIONS

open access: yesPerner’s Contacts, 2012
This article deals with chromatic dispersion causes in optical fibres and with its effects on signal transmission. The ways of dispersion compensation are described and illustrated through simulations OptSim software.

Electromagnetic Signal Modulation by Chromatic Dispersion in Phase Gradient Metasurface

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2022
Chromatic dispersion in phase gradient metasurface and its impact on the scattered electromagnetic signals are studied in this paper. Due to its intrinsic material dispersion and special spatial arrangement of unit cells, phase gradient metasurfaces ...

Chromatic Dispersion Diagnosis of Three OAM States in 5.58 Kilometer Ring-Core Fiber Link

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2017
We present the investigation on chromatic dispersion characteristics of three orbital angular momentum (OAM) states in 5.58 km ring-core fiber (RCF) link. Steady transmissions of different OAM mode orders spanning from −2 to +2 via the 5.58&

CHROMATIC DISPERSION COMPENSATION IN EXISTING FIBER OPTIC TELECOMMUNICATION LINES WITH THE GROWING BIT RATES NEEDS OF DWDM SYSTEM

open access: yesInformatyka, Automatyka, Pomiary w Gospodarce i Ochronie Środowiska, 2021
The article presents an analysis of the methods of chromatic dispersion compensation in the existing, already built fiber optic telecommunications lines, based on ITU G.652 A and B fibers with the constantly growing demand for bit rates in DWDM systems ...

Simulation Study on Dispersion Properties of As2S3 Three-Bridge Suspended-Core Fiber

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2017
In this paper, the chromatic dispersion of the As2S3 three-bridge suspended-core fiber (SCF) is numerically investigated. All the cross-section parameters, including the thickness of the bridges and the internal circle and external circle diameter of the

Phase-matching-induced near-chirp-free solitons in normal-dispersion fiber lasers

open access: yesLight: Science & Applications, 2022
The fiber birefringence, chromatic dispersion, and nonlinear effect follow a phase-matching principle, enabling the formation of birefringence-managed solitons in normal-dispersion fiber lasers containing a section of polarization-maintaining fiber.

The characterization of step index single mode silica fiber for long haul signal communication

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2005
The optical properties of single mode fibers, which are drawn from the silica preform made by MCVD technique, have been studied. The properties such as cutoff wavelength, chromatic dispersion, and polarization mode dispersion (PMD) were studied for 2.3 ...

Theory of the Chromatic Dispersion, Revisited

open access: yesArxiv.org Repository, 2020
We derive general analytic expressions for the chromatic dispersion orders valid to infinity, due to the k vector or phase {\phi} dependence on the wavelength. Additionally, we identify polynomials and recursion relations associated with the chromatic dispersion orders and draw analogy to the generalized Lah and Laguerre transformations.

Tunable Optoelectronic Chromatic Dispersion Compensation Based on Machine Learning for Short-Reach Transmission

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2019
In this paper, a machine learning-based tunable optical-digital signal processor is demonstrated for a short-reach optical communication system. The effect of fiber chromatic dispersion after square-law detection is mitigated using a hybrid structure ...

Meta-Dispersive 3D Chromatic Confocal Measurement. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
Abstract 3D reconstruction can perceive the detailed structures of real‐world objects. Integrating metasurfaces with stereo vision or structured‐light projection enables compact and efficient 3D reconstruction systems, beneficial for next‐generation sensing, augmented reality, and biomedical applications. Nevertheless, the limitations
