Chromatic dispersions of the ocular media of human eyes

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2005
Of the commonly used chromatic dispersion equations, only the Sellmeier and the Cauchy equations seem to be theoretically based. Cauchy's equation is derived from the Sellmeier equation, is simpler to implement, and was found to give an excellent fit to published refractive-index data of the human eye.

Coherent BOTDA Sensor with Suppressed Chromatic Dispersion

Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2015
Intensity modulated probe is utilized in coherent BOTDA sensor to reduce chromatic dispersion effect instead of phase modulated probe. Reduction of ∼6-MHz decoding error in Brillouin gain spectrum is achieved along 40-km sensing distance.

Effect of chromatic dispersion on nonlinear phase noise

Optics Letters, 2003
We consider the combined effects of amplified spontaneous emission noise, optical Kerr nonlinearity, and chromatic dispersion on phase noise in an optical communication system. The effect of amplified spontaneous emission noise and Kerr nonlinearity were considered previously by Gordon and Mollenauer [Opt. Lett.

Chromatic dispersion effects in coherent absolute ranging

Optics Letters, 1992
Multiple-wavelength interferometers and chirped-frequency coherent laser radars use the variation of interferometric phase as a function of wavelength to measure optical path lengths. Since these instruments generally include a number of dispersive components, the group-velocity index must be included in the path-length calculation. A simple experiment
