Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...

The nucleosome is a fundamental unit of chromatin in which about 150 base pairs of DNA are wrapped around a histone octamer. The overlapping di-nucleosome has been proposed as a product of chromatin remodeling around the transcription start site, and ...

CDT1 is an essential protein for DNA replication licensing that loads the MCM complex, the eukaryotic replicative DNA helicase, onto replication origins. Overexpression of CDT1 induces cell cycle arrest at the S phase. Here we showed CDT1 inhibits the progression of replication forks by interacting with the MCM complex, leading to the stalling and ...

Nucleosome spacing can fine-tune higher-order chromatin assembly
Cellular chromatin displays heterogeneous structure and dynamics, properties that control diverse nuclear processes. Models invoke phase separation of conformational ensembles of chromatin fibers as a mechanism regulating chromatin organization in vivo ...

Statistical mechanics of nucleosome ordering by chromatin structure-induced two-body interactions
One-dimensional arrays of nucleosomes (DNA-bound histone octamers separated by stretches of linker DNA) fold into higher-order chromatin structures which ultimately make up eukaryotic chromosomes.
