High‐Entropy Sulfides Catalyze Rate‐Determining Redox in Fast‐Charging Aqueous Zinc–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work reveals how entropy regulates sulfur utilization and cycling stability in aqueous Zn–S batteries. High‐entropy (HES) catalysts enable optimized Zn–S redox pathways and structural integrity, achieving high sulfur utilization and stable cycling.

Synthesis of Benzodithieno[5.5.5.6]Fenestranes: Unexpected Epimerization and Regiochemical Outcomes

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
Isomeric [5.5.5.6]fenestranes annulated with one benzene and two thiophene rings are accessible via di‐2‐ and di‐3‐thienylspirane intermediates. The key double cyclization step involves surprising stereoselectivity and regioselectivity. In particular, cis‐di(2‐thienyl)spirane precursors lead to the all‐cis‐fenestrane skeleton by an unexpected acid ...

An Artificial Metal‐Free Peroxidase Designed Using a Ferritin Cage for Bioinspired Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Designing artificial enzymes remains challenging due to the need for precise active site control. Here, we present a simple strategy to create metal‐free artificial enzymes by engineering Histidine clusters inside a ferritin cage. The resulting catalyst mimics peroxidase activity, and its stable cage structure offers new insights into supramolecular ...

Thiophene Containing Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbon Monkey Saddles

open access: yesAsian Journal of Organic Chemistry, EarlyView.
A series of thiophene containing polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon monkey saddles is presented. The core structure was successfully functionalized to tune the optoelectronic properties and furthermore path the way to use these monkey saddles as building block, for example for oligomeric structures as well as organic cage compounds.

Modulation of Lanthanide Luminescence with the Mechanical Bond: Antenna‐Emitter Confinement in a Compact [2]Rotaxane

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Luminescent lanthanide emitters typically need sensitization from an attached chromophore – an “antenna” – to have useful emission intensities. Here we show that the mechanical bond can be used to connect the antenna to the emitter, providing unique stimuli‐responsiveness to the resulting assemblies.

Fluoxetine Treatment in Epilepsy of Infancy with Migrating Focal Seizures Due to KCNT1 Variants: An Open Label Study

open access: yesAnnals of Neurology, Volume 98, Issue 1, Page 48-61, July 2025.
Objective Gain‐of‐function (GoF) variants in KCNT1 encoding for potassium channels are associated with different epilepsy phenotypes, including epilepsy of infancy with migrating focal seizures (EIMFS), other early infantile developmental and epileptic encephalopathies, and focal epilepsy.
