Pickering Emulsion for Enhanced Viability of Plant Growth Promoting Bacteria and Combined Delivery of Agrochemicals and Biologics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Cellulosic emulsions as multi‐cargo agriculture formulations. Pickering emulsions stabilized by cellulose acetate particles provide an effective platform for delivering a range of agricultural cargoes, including plant growth‐promoting bacteria and agrochemicals.

Time‐Controlled Dual Targeting to Program Systemic and Intercellular Transfer of Therapeutic Effects

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Aspirin‐liposomes loaded onto monocytes enable inflammation‐triggered targeting and efficient hand‐over of aspirin to inflamed cells. Monocytes uptake a significant portion of aspirin‐liposomes, prolonging therapeutic action. This approach enhances anti‐inflammatory effects through intercellular transfer, demonstrating a translational strategy for ...

Transport property predictions for laser resonance chromatography on Rf$^+$ (Z = 104) [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
We propose a theoretically designed laser resonance chromatography (LRC) experiment on Rf$^+$ (Z = 104) drifting in He buffer gas. To this end, we first developed a four-level rate equation model that simulates the optical pumping of Rf$^+$ from its ground state, $^2$D$_{3/2}$ (7s$^2$6d$^1$), to the metastable $^4$F$_{3/2}$ (7s$^1$6d$^2$) state via ...

Mesenchymal Stem Cells‐Derived Extracellular Vesicles Mimetics as Osteoinductive Mediators for Bone Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stem cell‐derived nanoghosts (MSC‐NGs) mimic naturally secreted extracellular vesicles (MSC‐EVs) in structure and physicochemical properties but can be synthesized at more translatable yields. As osteogenic agents, MSC‐NGs demonstrate superior outcomes compared to MSC‐EVs.

Purification of Cortactin Using Anion Exchange Chromatography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cortactin is an actin-binding protein that has been shown to be involved in cellular migration and metastases in cancer. Bacterially expressed and purified cortactin protein is often used in in vitro assays to examine cortactin’s role in promoting cell ...

Switching From Acceptor to FRET Donor: How the Organic Solar Cell Architecture Can Change the Role of a Chromophore

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The non‐fullerene acceptor o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV is used in both binary and ternary blends to investigate the role that it plays in each device architecture. The charge generation pathways are found to differ between the binary and ternary blends with o‐IDT‐BT‐DCV becoming a second donor in the ternary blend.

An In Vitro Study on the Antioxidant Properties of Cistus incanus Extracts

open access: yesAgriculture
This paper concerns the evaluation of the antioxidant activity (AA) of extracts obtained from cistus herbs grown in Albania and Turkey. The extracts were prepared in a Soxhlet apparatus, as well as by the maceration and infusion methods, similar to the ...
