A new downy-mildew of the Rosaceae: Peronospora oblatispora sp. nov. (Chromista, Peronosporales)

Nova Hedwigia, 2007
Peronospora oblatispora sp. nov., parasitic on Potentilla chrysantha, P. paradoxa, P. supina and Aphanes microcarpa, is described from 11 specimens collected in France, Korea and Romania. By its oblate conidia it differs morphologically from both P. sparsa and P. potentillae.

Plasmoverna gen. nov., and the taxonomy and nomenclature of Plasmopara (Chromista, Peronosporales)

open access: closedTAXON, 2005
AbstractAfter a review of the taxonomy and nomenclature of Plasmopara, it is concluded that this genus contains at least two groups of fungi that can be differentiated on both morphological and molecular grounds. In order to avoid numerous nomenclatural changes, the genus Plasmoverna with seven new combinations (Pv. pygmaea, Pv. alpina, Pv.

The nomenclature of Plasmopara (Chromista, Peronosporales) parasitic on Geraniaceae

TAXON, 2004
AbstractThe four names in use for Plasmopara parasitic on Geranium are lectotypified. It is recommended that the name Plasmopara pusilla should be restricted to Plasmopara occurring mostly on Geranium pratense. Plasmopara geranii–pratensis is considered a taxonomic synonym of P. pusilla.

Phylogenetic relationships and nomenclature of Bremiella sphaerosperma (Chromista, Peronosporales)

open access: closedMycotaxon, 2007
Molecular phylogenetic analyses using D1¿3 and D7¿8 nrLSU rDNA sequence data clearly show that Bremiella sphaerosperma is embedded within Plasmopara sensu stricto. Therefore, it is transferred to the genus Plasmopara; for nomenclatural reasons, we propose the new name Plasmopara constantinescui.
