Effects of Casting Geometry on the Mechanical Properties of A201 Aluminum Alloy Castings in Chromite Sand Molds

Advanced Materials Research, 2015
Systematic change of riser size together with variation of thickness and length of A201 aluminum alloy plate castings were studied to investigate the correlation between mechanical properties and porosity content. The molds with end chill for plate castings were made of 100% chromite sand by CO2 process.

Studies Regarding the Use of Molding Mixtures Based on Chromite-Sand to the Casting of the Steel Parts

Solid State Phenomena, 2016
This paper presents a critical analysis of molding technology a steel castings (340-550W steel grade), of the Toothed framework type. This casting is used to manufacture an reducer on 125kW (is a subset of the reducer). In the industrial practice, for the casting by Toothed framework type, cast of steel is used a molding mixture based on chromite-sand,

Application of an innovative beneficiation technique to Krasta chromite ore (Albania) for the production of high grade – low silica chromite sand

2012
The Mirdita ophiolite is located in the northern ophiolite belt of Albania. Based on differences in the internal stratigraphy and chemical composition of the crustal units, two types of ophiolites have been recognized in the Mirdita ophiolite, namely the Western Mirdita Ophiolite (WMO) and the Eastern Mirdita Ophiolite (EMO) (Dilek et al., 2008 ...

Textural and mineralogical constraints in chromite sands enrichment by shaking tables at Brieville plant (Madagascar)

2010
Textural and mineralogical characters of ore together with technical parameters of enrichment plants strongly affect efficiency of chromite sand concentration with shaking tables. Such parameters were studied at Brieville gravity enrichment plant that works chromite ore from different mines within Andriamena district (Madagascar).

Mineralogical and textural parameters affecting the production of refractory chromite sands: the Khajeh-Jamali enrichment plant, Southern Iran

2018
Chromite foundry sands form the mold in which molten metal is contained until it solidifies in the desired shape. Chromite is used because of its resistance when exposed to heat and is chosen over typical silica sand when a higher casting temperature is required.
