Three-Stage Single-Chambered Microbial Fuel Cell Biosensor Inoculated with Exiguobacterium aestuarii YC211 for Continuous Chromium (VI) Measurement

open access: yesSensors, 2019
Chromium (VI) [Cr(VI)] compounds display high toxic, mutagenic, and carcinogenic potential. Biological analysis techniques (e.g., such as enzyme-based or cell-based sensors) have been developed to measure Cr(VI); however, these biological elements are ...

Emapalumab for Immune Effector Cell‐Associated Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis‐Like Syndrome Following CD19‐Directed CAR‐T in Two Patients With B‐ALL: Clinical and Biomarker Correlates

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immune effector cell‐associated hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis‐like syndrome (IEC‐HS) is a life‐threatening hyperinflammatory toxicity distinct from cytokine release syndrome (CRS) and neurotoxicity following chimeric antigen receptor T‐cell (CAR‐T) therapy. In a single‐institution retrospective cohort of pediatric and young adult patients

Applicability of the Pinus bark (Pinus elliottii) for the adsorption of toxic heavy metals from aqueous solutions - doi: 10.4025/actascitechnol.v34i1.9585

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Technology, 2011
Current research evaluates the efficaciousness of pine (Pinus elliottii) bark as adsorbent of the toxic heavy metals cadmium (Cd), lead (Pb) and chromium (Cr) from aqueous solutions, at two pH conditions: 5.0 and 7.0.

Chromium(III) — chromium(VI) interconversions in seawater [PDF]

open access: yesMarine Chemistry, 1982
The stable form of dissolved chromium in oxygenated seawater is Cr(VI). But Cr(III)-species are also present at an analytically significant level. It is shown that Cr(III) is oxidized only slowly by dissolved oxygen, and that manganese oxide is a strong catalyst for such oxidation.

Effects of the Fluid Replacement Method During Online Hemodiafiltration on the Solute Removal Performance and Biocompatibility Using the Asymmetric Cellulose Triacetate Membrane

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Pre‐dilution online hemodiafiltration (Pre‐HDF) is predominantly used in Japan, whereas post‐dilution online HDF (Post‐HDF) is more common in Europe. An asymmetric cellulose triacetate (ATA) membrane may improve biocompatibility.

Removal of chromium (III) by two-aqueous phases extraction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Two-aqueous phase extraction of chromium (III) as a solute from their aqueous solutions was investigated using polyethoxylated alcohols (CiEj) as a biodegradable non-ionic surfactant in the presence of anionic sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS ...

Chromium-Catalyzed Diastereoselective Synthesis of Conformationally Constrained Spirotetrahydroquinolines

open access: yes, 2023
We report the diastereoselective cyclization of anilines with cyclobutanones and congeners by chromium catalysis. This reaction can link two strained four-membered rings with tetrahydroquinolines by forming four bonds in a diastereocontrolled manner ...

Content of heavy metals in Gentiana lutea L. roots and galenic forms [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Serbian Chemical Society, 2007
An experimental field for the cultivated production of Gentiana lutea L. was established five years ago at the Suvobor Mountain, Serbia. Soil analysis of this area revealed the occurrence of high pseudo-total (Ni - 1270 mg/kg, Cr - 423 mg/kg, Co - 385 mg/

Infection Control Practices for Vascular Access Management in Hemodialysis: Results From a Nationwide Survey of Japanese National University Hospitals

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Bloodstream infections due to repeated vascular access (VA) puncture and circuit connections remain major concerns in hemodialysis. Therefore, we examined current practices for glove, disinfectant, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use according to VA type in national university hospitals in Japan.
