Silver‐catalyzed Cascade Bis‐heteroannulation Reaction of Enynones and o‐Hydroxyphenyl Enaminones: Access to Highly Functionalized 3‐Furylmethyl Chromones

Advanced Synthesis & Catalysis
A general and efficient synthetic protocol was developed to synthesize highly functionalized 3‐furylmethyl chromones from enynones and o‐hydroxyphenyl enaminones via silver‐catalyzed cascade bis‐heteroannulation reaction.

Visible Light-Induced Thiocyanation of Enaminone C-H Bond to Access Polyfunctionalized Alkenes and Thiocyano Chromones.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2019
The visible light induced C-H bond thiocyanation on the α-site of tertiary enaminones has been realized under metal-free, photocatalytic conditions in the presence of Rose Bengal, which enables the synthesis of thiocyanated alkene derivatives and ...

Iodine-Mediated Domino Cyclization for One-Pot Synthesis of Indolizine-Fused Chromones via Metal-Free sp3 C-H Functionalization.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2021
An efficient method for the synthesis of new indolizine-fused chromones has been accomplished from ethyl (E)-3-(2-acetylphenoxy)acrylates and pyridines in a "one-pot" manner.

Natural chromones—I

Tetrahedron, 1965
Abstract A modified synthesis of the naturally occurring visnagin is reported. Starting from phloroglucin aldehyde, and building on the 2-methyl-γ-pyrone, 2-methyl-5,7-dihydroxy-6-formyl-chromone was obtained. Construction of the furan moiety was realized by a conventional method through the 7-carboxy-methoxy ether giving 5-norvisnagin which can be ...

Ruthenium(II)-catalyzed C-H activation of chromones with maleimides to synthesize succinimide/ maleimide-containing chromones.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020
An efficient route for the coupling of maleimides with chromones at the C5-position has been developed under Ru(II) catalysis. It could provide 1,4-addition products and oxidative Heck-type products by switching additives.

Chromones

2014
The chromones are a class of chemical compounds characterised by the presence of the structure 5:6 benz-1:4-pyrone in their chemical make-up. The first chromone in clinical use, khellin, was extracted from the seeds of the plant Ammi visnaga, and had been used for centuries as a diuretic and as a smooth muscle relaxant.
