Targeting chromosome trisomy for chromosome editing [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
AbstractA trisomy is a type of aneuploidy characterised by an additional chromosome. The additional chromosome theoretically accepts any kind of changes since it is not necessary for cellular proliferation. This advantage led us to apply two chromosome manipulation methods to autosomal trisomy in chicken DT40 cells.

Chromosome Painting of Mouse Chromosomes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Chromosome painting enables the visualization of chromosomes and has been used extensively in cytogenetics. Chromosome paint probes, which consist of a pooled composite of DNA-FISH probes, bind to nonrepetitive sequences for individual chromosomes [1, 2].

Multicolor chromosome bar codes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Chromosome bar codes are multicolor banding patterns produced by fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) with differentially labeled and pooled sub-regional DNA probes.

The origin of human chromosome 2 analyzed by comparative chromosome mapping with a DNA microlibrary [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
Fluorescencein situ hybridization (FISH) of microlibraries established from distinct chromosome subregions can test the evolutionary conservation of chromosome bands as well as chromosomal rearrangements that occurred during primate evolution and will ...

X chromosome inactivation during Drosophila spermatogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Genes with male- and testis-enriched expression are under-represented on the Drosophila melanogaster X chromosome. There is also an excess of retrotransposed genes, many of which are expressed in testis, that have “escaped” the X chromosome and moved to ...

THE CHROMOSOMES OF THE CERCOPIDÆ [PDF]

open access: yesThe Biological Bulletin, 1913
1. The chromosomes of Philœnus spumarius and Aphrophora spumaria were studied and compared with those of the four other species of Cercopidae previously worked out. All have an odd chromosome which does not divide in the first spermatocyte division.

Chromosomal rearrangements in cattle and pigs revealed by chromosome microdissection and chromosome painting [PDF]

open access: yesGenetics Selection Evolution, 2003
A pericentric inversion of chromosome 4 in a boar, as well as a case of (2q-;5p+) translocation mosaicism in a bull were analysed by chromosome painting using probes generated by conventional microdissection. For the porcine inversion, probes specific for p arms and q arms were produced and hybridised simultaneously on metaphases of a heterozygote ...

Detection of chromosome aberrations in metaphase and interphase tumor cells by in situ hybridization using chromosome-specific library probes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
Chromosome aberrations in two glioma cell lines were analyzed using biotinylated DNA library probes that specifically decorate chromosomes 1, 4, 7, 18 and 22 from pter to qter.

Chromosome Evolution in New World Monkeys (Platyrrhini) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
During the last decades, New World monkey (NWM, Platyrrhini, Anthropoideae) comparative cytogenetics has shed light on many fundamental aspects of genome organisation and evolution in this fascinating, but also highly endangered group of neotropical ...
