Dual targeting of RET and SRC synergizes in RET fusion‐positive cancer cells
Despite the strong activity of selective RET tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), resistance of RET fusion‐positive (RET+) lung cancer and thyroid cancer frequently occurs and is mainly driven by RET‐independent bypass mechanisms. Son et al. show that SRC TKIs significantly inhibit PAK and AKT survival signaling and enhance the efficacy of RET TKIs in ...

Molecular Detection of Genes Related to Antimicrobial Resistance harbored on chromosome by PCR assay in P. aeruginosa [PDF]
Forty-two typical P. aeruginosa strains were chosen, and Eight antibiotic-resistance genes linked to a spontaneous outbreak of the bacteria were analyzed (the same strains that were tested for the antimicrobial susceptibility). The findings revealed that

Association Mapping for Common Bunt Resistance in Wheat [PDF]
Common bunt, caused by Tilletia caries and T. foetida, is a fungal disease of wheat world wide. Infection, occurring via seed borne teliospores, is generally controlled by the application of seed treatments prior to sowing.

Multiple QTL-effects of wheat Gpc-B1 locus on grain protein and micronutrient concentrations [PDF]
Micronutrient malnutrition afflicts over three billion peopleworldwide and the numbers are continuously increasing. Developing genetically micronutrientenriched cereals, which are the predominant source of human dietary, is essential to alleviate ...

Mouse ZGRF1 helicase facilitates DNA repair and maintains efficient fertility
The recently characterised human ZGRF1 helicase promotes genomic stability by facilitating DNA interstrand crosslink repair. In its absence, human cells exhibit greater sensitivity towards anti-cancer drugs such as mitomycin C and camptothecin. Moreover,

The karyotype of Adenia and the origin of the base number x = 12 in Passifloroideae (Passifloraceae)
Adenia is an Old World genus of Passifloroideae closely related to Passiflora. The two genera comprise the large majority of Passifloroideae species, although most studies are concentrated on Passiflora.

Genome-wide survival analysis of age at onset of alcohol dependence in extended high-risk COGA families. [PDF]
BackgroundThe age at onset of alcohol dependence (AD) is a critical moderator of genetic associations for alcohol dependence. The present study evaluated whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) can influence the age at onset of AD in large high ...

We developed and validated a DNA methylation–based biomarker panel to distinguish pleural mesothelioma from other pleural conditions. Using the IMPRESS technology, we translated this panel into a clinically applicable assay. The resulting two classifier models demonstrated excellent performance, achieving high AUC values and strong diagnostic accuracy.
