Chromosome abnormalities in liposarcomas
Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1992We performed a cytogenetic study of short-term cultures from fresh surgical specimens obtained from four patients with liposarcoma. Myxoid liposarcomas (cases 1-3) were associated with a specific translocation between chromosomes 12 and 16. Trisomy 8, a nonrandom secondary aberration in myxoid liposarcoma, was observed in the third case as the only ...

Chromosomal Abnormalities in Cancer
New England Journal of Medicine, 2008This review gives an account of chromosomal aberrations in cancer cells. Such abnormalities have typically been associated with hematologic cancers, but recent work has shown a variety of chromosomal changes in solid tumors, including prostate cancer and non–small-cell lung cancer.

Chromosomal abnormalities in embryos
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 2001Chromosomal analysis was performed on 1620 embryos generated in vitro by patients with a poor prognosis of pregnancy. A diagnosis was yielded in 1596 embryos: 536 (34%) were euploid and 1060 (66%) carried chromosomal abnormalities. The results revealed a strong association between chromosomal abnormalities, cellular stage and percentage of ...

Chromosome abnormalities in meningiomas
Cancer Genetics and Cytogenetics, 1986Cytogenetic analyses of eight meningiomas grown in culture for 1 week are reported. Normal karyotypes were found in three cases and hypodiploidy in the remaining five. In the five hypodiploid meningiomas, one chromosome #22 was missing in four cases, and one case exhibited a 22q- deletion.

Chromosome Abnormalities and Epilepsy
Epilepsia, 2001Chromosome abnormalities are often associated with central nervous system (CNS) malformations and with other neurologic dysfunctions. In particular, patients with chromosomal abnormalities can have mental retardation (MR) and have a higher risk for seizures than that found in the general population (1).

Chromosome Abnormalities and Abortion
1974Although spontaneous abortions represent one of the most frequent pathological entities, their causes have remained relatively obscure until the last decade. However, the work carried out at the Carnegie Institution at the beginning of the century and published in 1921 by Mall and Meyer had demonstrated the importance of abnormalities in the ...
