ProtocadherinX/Y, a Candidate Gene-Pair for Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder: A DHPLC Investigation of Gonomic Sequence [PDF]
Protocadherin X and Protocadherin Y (PCDHX and PCDHY) are cell-surface adhesion molecules expressed predominantly in the brain. The PCDHX/Y gene-pair was generated by an X-Y translocation approximately 3 million years ago (MYA) that gave rise to the Homo

Analysis of the role of the X/Y homologous gene family Xmr/Sly in murine spermiogenesis [PDF]
Spermatogenesis is a complex, continuous developmental process that involves the formation of highly differentiated haploid sperm from diploid spermatogonial stem cells.

A graphene oxide/collagen scaffold is developed for chronic massive rotator cuff tear repair. The scaffold improves compressive stability, supports reparative mesenchymal differentiation, and modulates the immune microenvironment. In chronic MRCT models, it reduces muscle degeneration, enhances tendon–bone regeneration, and improves functional recovery,

The role of Q-banding in the cytogenetic study of human spontaneous abortions [PDF]
The discovery of Q-banding made it possible to identify every member of the human chromosome complement. Spontaneous abortions known to have a better than average chance of presenting with a chromosome anomaly were selected for cytogenetic analysis.

STAU2 undergoes phase separation to form dynamic condensates that package target mRNAs and deliver them to the distal ends of growing neuronal dendrites. STAU2 condensates stabilize embedded mRNAs and repress their translation. Synaptic activity bidirectionally remodels STAU2 condensates, coordinating local translation of STAU2‐associated mRNAs ...

Nuclear positioning and functional regulation of endogenous genes and transgenes in the fruit fly Drosophila melanogaster and in mammalian cells [PDF]
The goal of the work was to address the role of higher order nuclear architecture in the functional regulation of endogenous genes and transgenes in different species.

Dynamic Regulation of Endogenous Transcription Factor Hubs at Single‐Molecule Resolution
This study combines single‐molecule microscopy and genome editing to characterize the dynamic behaviors of endogenous oncofusion transcription factor EWS::FLI1 in Ewing sarcoma cells. EWS::FLI1 forms neomorphic hubs that dynamically assemble and dissolve. The hubs are regulated during mitosis, by RNA, and by specific chemicals.

PlantGFM: A Genomic Foundation Model for Discovery and Creation of Plant Genes
A plant genomic foundation model pre‐trained on 12 species enables both accurate gene prediction and de novo gene design. Through AI‐human knowledge screening, seven designed sequences showed transcriptional activity in plants, with two expressing stable proteins—demonstrating the first DNA‐RNA‐protein expression of LLM‐generated genes in plants and ...
