Characterization of a large sex determination region in Salix purpurea L. (Salicaceae). [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Dioecy has evolved numerous times in plants, but heteromorphic sex chromosomes are apparently rare. Sex determination has been studied in multiple Salix and Populus (Salicaceae) species, and P. trichocarpa has an XY sex determination system on chromosome

Anti‐PD‐1 Nanobody‐Armored MSLN CAR‐T Therapy for Malignant Mesothelioma: Preclinical and Clinical Studies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A novel therapy using engineered immune cells (NAC‐T cells) showed promise for refractory malignant mesothelioma. Based on the encouraging preclinical data, the first‐in‐human trial is initiated, demonstrating tolerable safety and promising anti‐tumor activity (ORR 63.6%, DCR 100%, including one CR).

Cytogenics, morphology and viability of Borreria spinosa (Rubiaceae) pollen grains

open access: yesCuadernos de investigación UNED
Introduction: Borreria spinosa is a herbaceous plant considered a weed in agricultural crops, although it also has potential in apiculture. Despite its agronomic importance, its cytogenetic and palynological traits are poorly known. Objective: To do the

Engineered Mesenchymal Stem Cell–NK Cell Complexes for Spatially Targeted and Functionally Revitalized Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
IL‐15‐engineered stem cell–NK cell complexes, assembled via bioorthogonal chemistry, enable effective lung cancer immunotherapy. Abstract Natural killer (NK) cells represent a powerful immunotherapeutic strategy due to their intrinsic cytotoxicity and ability to target tumor cells independently of antigen presentation.

Genome mapping of tetraploid cotton : towards a saturated and unified map [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
DNA-based genetic maps have been produced in nearly all major crop species, thus facilitating the analysis of genome structure and evolution, and improving efficiency and accuracy of breeding.

A Bifunctional T3SS‐Effector Simultaneously Cleaves Host MAP Kinase and Inhibits PPM1A Phosphatase

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Pathogenic bacteria exploit the metalloprotease effector NleD to subvert host defenses. Structural, biochemical, and infection analyses reveal a bifunctional mechanism by which NleD binds and inhibits the host phosphatase PPM1A while preserving its proteolytic activity against MAPKs.

Unraveling Plant Recombination Patterns: Insights From Genome k‐mers

open access: yesPlant Direct
Crossover recombination is a pivotal event that takes place during meiosis of germinal cells, leading to the rearrangement of parental chromosomes and generating novel allele combinations, thereby enhancing genetic diversity.

Fibrates Inhibit PLTP‐induced M2 Macrophage Infiltration and Increase the Sensitivity of Hepatocellular Carcinoma to ICIs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phospholipid transfer protein(PLTP) plays a critical role in forming a complex with kinase A (AURKA) and P65. This interaction facilitates phosphorylation of P65 at Ser536, leading to the activation of the NF‐κB signaling pathway. Ultimately, this leads to the upregulation of downstream cytokines, including IL‐6, IL‐8, and CSF‐1, which promotes M2 ...

Telomere‐to‐Telomere Genomes Reveal that Multiscale Evolution Shapes the Largest Metabolic Arsenal of Diaporthe Fungi

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents the first telomere‐to‐telomere genomes and population resources for Diaporthe pathogens, uncovering the largest known fungal repertoire of secondary metabolite gene clusters. Structural variations and horizontal gene transfer drive cluster diversification, while specific rapidly evolving clusters control virulence, offering novel ...
