Bruton's Tyrosine Kinase Inhibitors: Mechanisms, Efficacy, Toxicities and Applications for the Treatment of Human Diseases

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 10, October 2026.
BTK inhibitors suppress malignant B‐cell signaling while simultaneously reshaping immune regulation through effects on T cells and the tumor microenvironment. These mechanisms support combination immunotherapy strategies and also underlie the expanding application of BTK inhibitors in solid tumors, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases.

Bronchiectasis as the Sentinel Manifestation of ANCA‐Associated Vasculitis: A Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
A 74‐year‐old woman was treated for 7 years as culture‐negative bronchiectasis before palpable purpura, haemoptysis, and acute kidney injury revealed MPO‐ANCA vasculitis with pauci‐immune crescentic glomerulonephritis. Rituximab‐based induction produced near‐complete resolution of the pulmonary consolidations and sustained clinical remission at 15 ...

Nerandomilast‐Associated Pneumonitis With a Positive Rechallenge: A Case Report

open access: yesRespirology Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 10, October 2026.
Nerandomilast was associated with new bilateral pulmonary opacities and inflammatory deterioration 9 days after treatment initiation in a woman with advanced interstitial lung disease. Biomarkers of Pre‐COPD Lung Function Trajectories in Middle Age: A Prospective Study From 1st to 6th Decade

open access: yesRespirology, Volume 31, Issue 10, Page 993-1002, October 2026.
Identifying impaired lifetime lung function trajectories is key to identifying the preclinical phase of COPD (Pre‐COPD) or prognosis of COPD. We have identified that some circulating established COPD biomarkers differ across ‘pre‐COPD’ lung function trajectories, suggesting that some COPD‐specific pathobiological processes, including inflammation, are ...

The Usefulness of Machine Learning Models to Predict Patient‐Reported Outcome Measures in Chronic Rhinosinusitis With Nasal Polyps

open access: yesWorld Journal of Otorhinolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, Volume 12, Issue 5, Page 598-610, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background and Objective The treatment available for chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) has remained unsatisfactory. Patient‐reported outcome measures (PROMs), capturing patient‐perceived health status and well‐being, are vehicles for measuring and improving the efficacy of care.
