Susceptibility‐Guided Versus Empirical Therapy for Helicobacter pylori Infection in a High Resistance Setting: A Randomised Controlled Trial

open access: yesMicrobiologyOpen, Volume 15, Issue 3, June 2026.
In a randomised trial conducted in a high‐resistance region, PCR‐based susceptibility‐guided therapy showed no superiority over empirical therapy for Helicobacter pylori eradication. Empirical clarithromycin‐containing quadruple therapy remained effective despite high clarithromycin resistance.
