Histopathology of chronic gastritis

American Journal of Digestive Diseases, 1942
Taking of biopsies from the gastric wall at operation without the use of ligatures and clamps was used in order to get unobjectionable material for the study of the histopathology of chronic gastritis. In addition, some sections gained at operation or at autopsy were used in cases in which the histamine test had shown a complete anacidity.

Chronic Gastritis in Cholecystectomized Patients

Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, 1987
Duodenogastric reflux is considered to be a possible cause of chronic gastritis. This reflux, however, is reported to be common after cholecystectomy. In the present investigation we have studied the possible relation between chronic gastritis and prior cholecystectomy in 106 symptomatic outpatients with prior cholecystectomy and in 131 controls ...

Chronic Gastritis and Chronic Duodenitis

1987
Autoptic observations made by Konjetzny (1925) and by Gubergritz and Tchaycha (1936) provided evidence of the possible contemporaneous presence of gastritis and of duodenitis. Subsequent studies showed the frequent association of duodenal fold alterations at radiology and of endoscopic evidence of gastritis patterns (Hillemand 1950; Debray and Pergola ...

Chronic Atrophic Gastritis: A Review

Journal of Environmental Pathology, Toxicology and Oncology, 2018

It is described as an atrophy of the gastric mucosa. There are two types of atrophic gastritis: a gastric body predominant type in patients with infection of Helicobacter pylori, and an autoimmune type ...

The Journal of Pathology, 1975
Gastric mucosal biopsy specimens from 241 patients with examined. Chronic inflammatory cellular infiltration of the gastric mucosa was found in 181 patients and this graded as mild, moderate or severe. The presence or absence of atrophy or intestinal metaplasia was noted. True superficial gastritis was observed in only three cases.

Staging and grading of chronic gastritis

Human Pathology, 2005
Chronic gastritis is an inflammatory condition of the gastric mucosa that may include structural alterations of the glandular compartment. The semiquantitative scoring systems advocated in the Sydney Systems and the subsequent Atrophy Club Guidelines remain essential for the recognition of the spectrum of the lesions detectable in gastric inflammatory ...

Hemorrhagic gastritis. Importance of associated chronic gastritis.

Archives of internal medicine, 1971
Twenty-five patients with endoscopically demonstrated acute hemorrhagic gastritis were studied to ascertain the presence of associated chronic gastritis. Peroral gastric biopsies demonstrated atrophic gastritis in eight of 15 patients with a prior alcohol intake. This incidence of atrophic gastritis is not unusual for a hospital population. However, in

Chronic gastritis

The American Journal of Medicine, 1949
Abstract To evaluate more fully the clinical significance of chronic gastritis in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms, a comparative analysis was made of the symptomatology and of the gastric secretory response to histamine among four groups of patients: fifty patients with atrophy of the gastric mucosa, fifty with superficial gastritis, fifty ...
