DPSCs, hepatocytes, and exosomes were tested for liver fibrosis therapy. Exosome‐based treatment exhibited superior antioxidative and regenerative effects. Liver enzymes, oxidative stress, and profibrotic markers were significantly reduced. α‐SMA, desmin, and related gene expression were downregulated.

Hepatitis B Virus Infection Among Antenatal Clinic Attendees at the Muhimbili National Hospital, Seroprevalence and Associated Factors [PDF]
Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection is a serious public health problem in sub-Saharan Africa. Vertical transmission is one of the modes of transmission. The risk of transmission increases if the mother is hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) positive and ...

Humanized immune system animal models and their recent applications
In this review, we provide an updated and comprehensive overview of the current state of humanized immune system animal model research. We discuss the variety of techniques used to produce humanized mice with their respective strengths and weaknesses, and evaluate the advantages and limitations of these models, including issues with incomplete immune ...

Targeted decrease of portal hepatic pressure gradient improves ascites control after TIPS
The river diagram demonstrates that after transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt insertion (TIPS) the majority of patients without ascites and 50% of the patients with ascites detectable at ultrasound, show the best response in the long term follow‐up.
