Metabolic Complications of Chronic Kidney Failure and Hemodialysis [PDF]
Chronic kidney disease is a very real and growing problem, as indicated by demographic trends. The total number of treated patients has markedly increased during the last 30 years, and chronic kidney disease currently affects approximately 19 million adult Americans, with an incidence that is still increasing (Snyder & Pendergraph, 2005). This trend is

Intraoral Drug Delivery: Bridging the Gap Between Academic Research and Industrial Innovations
Intraoral drug delivery offers a promising route for systemic and localized therapies, yet challenges such as enzymatic degradation, limited permeability, and microbial interactions hinder efficacy. This figure highlights innovative strategies—mucoadhesive materials, enzyme inhibitors, and permeation enhancers—to overcome these barriers.

MECHANISMS OF THE KIDNEY DAMAGE IN CASE OF OBESITY AND METABOLIC SYNDROME (REVIEW)
Obesity and metabolic syndrome influence the functions of body’s systems, provoke a progressive kidney damage and are development factors of chronic nephron number in reference to body mass. A long-term impact of these factors leads to glomerulosclerosis

Intravenous iron in heart failure and chronic kidney disease
Intravenous iron therapy is increasingly being used worldwide to treat anemia in chronic kidney disease and more recently iron deficiency in heart failure. Promising results were obtained in randomized clinical trials in the latter, showing symptomatic and functional capacity improvement with intravenous iron therapy.

Synthetic Strategy for mRNA Encapsulation and Gene Delivery with Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks
This research utilizes the ZIF‐8 for the encapsulation and intracellular delivery of nucleic acids, specifically mRNA, for applications in gene delivery. Integrating PEI addresses the issue of mRNA leakage from ZIF‐8, resulting in the delivery and expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) in vitro and firefly luciferase in vivo.

CD105‐LNPs and PS‐LNPs can deliver α‐lipoic acid to bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells and bone marrow‐derived macrophages, reversing high glucose‐induced oxidative stress while enhancing osteogenesis and M2 polarization. Integrating both nanoparticles into glucose‐responsive hyaluronic acid hydrogel forms DLNPs@HA hydrogel, which accelerates diabetic ...
