Ursodeoxycholic Acid Confers Neuroprotection in Rats With Acute Cervical SCI and Attenuates NLRP3/Caspase‐1/GSDMD Pyroptotic Signaling

open access: yesJournal of Biochemical and Molecular Toxicology, Volume 40, Issue 11, November 2026.
Ursodeoxycholic Acid could inhibit activation of the NLRP3/Caspase‐1/GSDMD pyroptosis pathway and reduce the release of downstream inflammatory cytokines IL‐18 and IL‐1β in rats with acute C5 cervical SCI. This modulation is associated with attenuated secondary injury and improved functional outcomes.

Atherosclerosis: From Pathogenesis to Therapeutic Interventions

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 11, November 2026.
The diagram outlines the core mechanisms driving atherosclerosis, including endothelial dysfunction, inflammatory responses, phenotypic switching of smooth muscle cells, and the gut–vascular axis. It also presents the corresponding therapeutic approaches now under development, such as gene therapies, immunotherapies, and nanotechnology platforms ...

A 5-year limb salvage for long-term limb salvage in chronic limb-threatening ischemia without options for revascularization, utilizing a hybrid deep venous arterialization technique: A case report

open access: yesScience Progress
Chronic limb-threatening ischemia represents the most severe form of peripheral arterial disease, with a 40% amputation rate and 20% mortality at 6 months without revascularization. Deep venous arterialization is an alternative for patients with advanced

Efficacy and Safety of SGLT2 Inhibitors in Patients With Genetic Lipodystrophy: A Real‐Life Experience From a National Reference Network

open access: yesDiabetes, Obesity and Metabolism, Volume 28, Issue 11, Page 10318-10329, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Aim Lipodystrophy syndromes are rare diseases with metabolic and cardiovascular consequences. This study explores the metabolic and renal effects of sodium‐glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors (SGLT2i) in patients with genetic lipodystrophy. Patients and Methods Patients with familial partial lipodystrophy (n = 57) or congenital generalised ...

“Life and Lower Limb Threatening Condition” Clinical Features, Management and Outcomes of Diabetic Foot Ulcers Complicated by Gas Gangrene: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Diabetic foot ulcer (DFU) is a common complication of diabetes in low‐ and middle‐income countries and may be complicated by gas gangrene (GG), a rapidly progressive, life‐threatening infection. This prospective study assessed whether GG can be diagnosed clinically in low‐resource primary care and explored factors associated with wound‐healing

Accelerated Preoperative Wound Bed Preparation Using Negative Pressure Wound Therapy With Instillation and Dwell Time: A Comparison With Conventional Negative Pressure Wound Therapy in Necrotic Wounds

open access: yesInternational Wound Journal, Volume 23, Issue 11, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Negative pressure wound therapy with instillation and dwell time (NPWTi‐d) and conventional NPWT are established treatments for complex wounds, yet direct comparative evidence remains limited. This retrospective observational study evaluated the clinical effectiveness of NPWTi‐d for hard‐to‐heal necrotic wounds using standardized parameters ...

Circulating Natural Killer Cells in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes and Peripheral Neuropathy Are Altered in Their Frequency and Exhibit Impaired Functions and Angiogenic Activities

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 20, 31 October 2026.
Neuropathic T2DM is characterized by increased circulating NK‐cell frequency but impaired NK‐cell function. Functional defects, including reduced degranulation and diminished pro‐angiogenic activity, together with an inflammatory cytokine milieu, promote macrophage recruitment, vascular inflammation, and defective angiogenesis, highlighting NK‐cell ...

Exploring the Mechanism of Postpartum Cognitive Dysfunction in a Preeclampsia Rat Model via Multimodal Imaging

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
This schematic illustrates an L‐NAME‐induced preeclampsia (PE) rat model generated via L‐NAME administration to pregnant dams, wherein Morris water maze assessments confirmed progressive postpartum cognitive dysfunction that emerged at 10 days post‐partum and deteriorated further at 1 and 3 months post‐partum. Multimodal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI)
