Extracorporeal albumin dialysis (OPAL) effectively reduces bilirubin and improves other laboratory markers in posthepatectomy liver failure, particularly in secondary forms. The gut microbiome modulates ulcerative colitis pharmacotherapy through microbial drug metabolism, immune regulation and altered drug bioavailability.
