Ultraflexible Neural Electrodes Enabled Synchronized Long-Term Dopamine Detection and Wideband Chronic Recording Deep in Brain.

ACS Nano
Ultraflexible neural electrodes have shown superior stability compared with rigid electrodes in long-term in vivo recordings, owing to their low mechanical mismatch with brain tissue.

Placing Sites on the Edge of Planar Silicon Microelectrodes Enhances Chronic Recording Functionality

IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering, 2018
Objective: This study aims to identify the impact of using edge sites over center sites on a planar silicon microelectrode array. Methods: We used custom-designed, silicon-substrate multisite microelectrode arrays with sites on the center, edge, and tip.

Multiple recording of electromyograms in chronic experiments

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1985
The authors describe electromyographic electrodes (EMG electrodes) for recording the activity of several muscles in chronic experiments on cats. An EMG electrode is a loop made of a silver wire 200 micron in diameter and 1.5-2 cm long, to which a flexible copper wire insulated with teflon 300 micron in diameter is soldered.

Stability of chronic intrafascicular electrode recordings

Images of the Twenty-First Century. Proceedings of the Annual International Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2003
Intrafascicular electrodes have been implanted in peripheral nerves of cats and have recorded neural activity from a small population of nerve fibers for as long as six months, suggesting that these electrodes can be used on a chronic basis to acquire information about limb position, muscle force and skin contact.

Designing Shared Electronic Records for Chronic Care

2010
This paper reports preliminary findings from an ongoing research project on the development of IT support for communication and information sharing across institutional and professional boundaries within the Danish healthcare system. The project focuses on the treatment of patients with implanted ICDs (implantable cardioverter-defibrillator). These are

3D Parylene sheath neural probe for chronic recordings

Journal of Neural Engineering, 2013
Reliable chronic recordings from implanted neural probes remain a significant challenge; current silicon-based and microwire technologies experience a wide range of biotic and abiotic failure modes contributing to loss of signal quality.A multi-prong alternative strategy with potential to overcome these hurdles is introduced that combines a novel three

An inexpensive microdrive for chronic single-unit recording

Brain Research Bulletin, 1993
A microdrive and microelectrode costing about $2.67 is described. The assembly is lightweight, compact, and versatile and is ideal for chronic single-unit recording from behaving rats. It is easy to assemble and operate and has been used successfully by undergraduates in the teaching and research laboratory.

A transistor amplifier for chronic micro-electrode recording

Electroencephalography and Clinical Neurophysiology, 1968
Abstract A small transistor amplifier with high input impedance was conducted. This amplifier can be attached to the head of cat to obtain stable recording of single spike potentials from chronically implanted tungsten micro-electrodes.

Chronic extracellular recording of fetal medullary neuronal activity

Journal of Applied Physiology, 1983
A technique for chronic extracellular recording of neuronal activity in the medullary region of fetal sheep during different sleep states is described. Of 51 recorded neurones, 54% were associated with respiration, blood pressure changes, or muscle electromyograms, and 46% were nonspecific.
