Assessment of a novel biomarker panel for the earlier prediction of acute kidney injury in patients with diabetes mellitus undergoing coronary angiography and intervention

open access: yes, 2012

Targeting Endogenous Lipophagy: A Novel Strategy to Enhance MSC Osteogenesis and Mineralization for Senile Osteoporosis Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the role of lipophagy in bone mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs). In healthy MSCs, functional lipophagy efficiently degrades lipid droplets to support oxidative phosphorylation and cellular energy production, thereby facilitating osteogenic differentiation and matrix mineralization.

[Chronic renal insufficiency: 1) adaptation of nephron function in chronic renal insufficiency and 2) progression of chronic renal insufficiency].

open access: yesSrpski arhiv za celokupno lekarstvo, 1999
In chronic renal insufficiency resulting from destruction of the vast majority of nephrons, the surviving nephrons adapt their functions to the conditions of vigorous haemodynamic and osmolar overloads. They acquire an appropriate behaviour to preserve the principal renal functions and to achieve the balance of inner space.

Renal handling of potassium in dogs with chronic renal insufficiency

open access: yesKidney International, 1981
The dynamics of potassium excretion were examined in normal dogs and dogs with chronic renal insufficiency of at least 4 weeks' duration (remnant model). All animals, in balance on diets providing 15, 50, or 100 mEq of potassium and 100 mEq of sodium, were challenged with 50 mEq of potassium chloride.

Diverging Association of Reduced Glomerular Filtration Rate and Albuminuria With Coronary and Noncoronary Events in Patients With Type 2 Diabetes The Renal Insufficiency And Cardiovascular Events (RIACE) Italian Multicenter Study

open access: yes, 2012
OBJECTIVE-Although a reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) was shown to be a powerful independent predictor of cardiovascular disease (CVD), other studies suggested that it confers a much lower risk than albuminuria alone, whereas the ...

NET‐DNA Activates the ANXA2/TMEM215/BiP Axis to Promote Mitophagy‐Mediated Anoikis Resistance in Endometriosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NET‐DNA is enriched during early endometriotic lesion establishment and drives anoikis resistance by promoting an ANXA2–TMEM215–BiP axis. This pathway strengthens ER–mitochondria contacts, enhances PINK1/Parkin‐associated mitophagy, preserves mitochondrial homeostasis, and supports ectopic stromal cell survival, thereby facilitating lesion persistence ...

Treatment of Hypertension in Chronic Renal Insufficiency.

open access: yesInternal Medicine, 2000
Hypertension is the most common complication of chronic renal insufficiency (CRI) and it accelerates the rate of progression of most forms of CRI. Several large clinical trials have clearly demonstrated the efficacy of antihypertensive treatment for prevention of progression of renal failure.

Clinical significance of nonalbuminuric renal impairment in type 2 diabetes

open access: yes, 2011
Objective In type 2 diabetes, prevalence of nonalbuminuric renal impairment is increasing worldwide, though its clinical significance remains unclear. This large-cohort study aimed at evaluating the association of this phenotype with cardiovascular risk ...
