Association Between History of Rhythm Control Therapy and Clinical Outcomes in Atrial Fibrillation Patients With Stable Coronary Artery Disease: A Sub‐Analysis of the AFIRE Trial

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
In the AFIRE study, 27% of patients had a history of rhythm control therapy. While unadjusted analyses suggested a benefit, propensity score‐matched results showed no significant difference in the primary efficacy outcome between patients with and without such history.

Reduced Kidney Function and Left Atrial Dilatation as Predictors of Incident Atrial Fibrillation in Patients With Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
New‐onset atrial fibrillation (AF) occurred in 22% of patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, corresponding to an incidence rate of 2.8 per 100 person‐years. Reduced kidney function and left atrial dilatation were independently associated with AF onset, indicating the need for closer monitoring and regular renal assessments in this population ...

Reduced Left Atrial Appendage Flow Velocity as a Risk of Thromboembolic Events After Catheter Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
Reduced preprocedural LAAFV is associated with adverse long‐term clinical outcomes after AF ablation, including a significantly increased risk of thromboembolic events. ABSTRACT Background Reduced left atrial appendage flow velocity (LAAFV) on transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is recognized as a predictor of thromboembolic events (TEs) in patients
