Analysis for establishing chronological age of bone

Journal of Oral Rehabilitation, 1982
SummaryAn examination was carried out of the range of variations in the chemical components of human bone dating from 2100 to 2000 bpe.A comparison was made with bones of other ages. A definite connection was established in the samples, between the percentage of inorganic material and the age of the bone.

The Chronology of the Stone Age

Proceedings of the Prehistoric Society of East Anglia, 1911
The object of this paper is to call attention to certain facts in connection with flint implements, both Palæolithic and Neolithic, which have been hitherto overlooked, and to attempt to find an explanation for them. This explanation must inevitably run counter to the generally received opinions of geologists as to the sequence of events in the ...

MMPI Profiles as a Function of Chronological Age

Psychological Reports, 1968
MMPI and Otis mental ability scores were studied as a function of chronological age among 176 male job applicants who were referred to a psychological consulting firm for evaluation. Ss were divided into four groups, with mean ages of 24.8, 31.4, 37.7, and 45.1 yr., and the groups were relatively well matched in terms of formal education.

A Genomic Approach to Yeast Chronological Aging

2009
Yeast is a useful model organism to study the genetic and biochemical mechanisms of aging. Genomic studies of aging in yeast have been limited, however, by traditional methodologies that require a large investment of labor and resources. In this chapter, we describe a newly-developed method for quantitatively measuring the chronological life span of ...

Chronology and the Age of the World

1977
Isaac Newton’s two categories of chronological argument, by reasoning and by conjecture, are the two poles around which belief about the age of the world and the chronology of its history have always turned. But one man’s conjecture is another man’s reason, and Newton’s contemporaries often seem to have had as much difficulty in deciding whether a ...

THE FACADE OF CHRONOLOGICAL AGE : AN INTERPRETATIVE SUMMARY

American Journal of Psychiatry, 1963
Old age is a period of rapid, profound and multiple changes of varying intensities, physiological and social, which influence subjective experience, behavior and adaptation. Characteristics possessed prior to old age modify the extent and the nature of these influences but do not fully account for the changes themselves.

Assessing chronological aging in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

Chronological age represents the time that passes between birth and a given date. To understand the complex network of factors contributing to chronological lifespan, a variety of model organisms have been implemented. One of the best studied organisms is the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae, which has greatly contributed toward identifying conserved ...
