Preliminary Evidence about the Colonisation Process of Kyphosus Species (Perciformes: Kyphosidae) in the Subtropical–Temperate Northeast Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean Sea

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering, 2022
A review of the non-native Kyphosus species historically recorded in Galician waters (north-western Spain) based on morphological and molecular characteristics is carried out.

Drivers of peat accumulation rate in a raised bog: impact of drainage, climate, and local vegetation composition [PDF]

open access: yesMires and Peat, 2017
We used variation partitioning to assess the relative importance of drainage, climate and local vegetation composition for the development of a raised bog. As a case study we selected Teiči (Teici) Bog in Latvia (north-east Europe). Explanatory variables

Refining ceramic chronology and Epiclassic reoccupation at La Ventilla, Teotihuacan using trapezoidal Bayesian modeling

open access: yes, 2022
AMS radiocarbon dates (n = 78) from human bone collagen were analyzed in the largest high-resolution chronology study to date at the ancient city of Teotihuacan in central Mexico (c. AD 1–550).

Microbiome−host proteostasis crosstalk—An emerging perspective on mechanisms and interventions toward healthy longevity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Proteostasis and the gut microbiota play a key role in shaping host physiology. Microbiota‐derived metabolites, vitamins, and RNA modulate host proteostasis. Findings from model systems, including C. elegans, indicate microbes can either stabilize or disrupt host proteostasis.

The ‘Maltreatment and Abuse Chronology of Exposure’ (MACE) Scale for the Retrospective Assessment of Abuse and Neglect During Development

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
There is increasing interest in childhood maltreatment as a potent stimulus that may alter trajectories of brain development, induce epigenetic modifications and enhance risk for medical and psychiatric disorders. Although a number of useful scales exist

TALDICE deep1 ice core chronology for the TALDICE ice core

open access: yes, 2022
TALDICE deep1 ice core chronology (years) for the TALDICE ice core for ice and gas matrix between 1438 m depth and 1548 m depth at 1 m resolution. The chronology is correlated with accumulation rate, thinning function and LIDIE (lock-in-depth in ice ...

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.
