A late chronotype (or an owl) is someone who tends to go to bed late, so he or she will get up later. In contrast, morning types (larks) get up earlier and go to bed earlier. Men and women differ in their chronotype. Women are usually earlier chronotypes, who go to bed earlier and fall asleep earlier, and then get up a little earlier.
