A marine Synechocystis (Cyanophyta, Chroococcales) epizoic on ascidians

Phycologia, 1975
Abstract Synechocystis didemni spec. nov. is described. It has only been found growing epizoically on calcified colonial ascidians (Didemnum spp.) in subtropical coastal waters. The apparent absence of phycobilin pigments and the presence of two chlorophylls (separable by chromatography) are unusual features for a photosynthetic prokaryont. So far, all

Fine structure of Synechocystis didemni (Cyanophyta: Chroococcales)

Phycologia, 1976
The green-coloured unicellular alga Synechocystis didemni, which has a pigment complement like that of a chlorophyte, is shown by transmission electron microscopy to have a typical prokaryotic cons...

Cytology of long-term desiccation in the desert cyanobacterium Chroococcidiopsis (Chroococcales)

Phycologia, 1993
Young and old cultures (up to 66 months) of two Chroococcidiopsis sp. strains isolated from the Negev desert, Israel, were examined by epifluorescence and electron microscopy. In old cultures, cell viability and autofluorescence were lower than in young cultures.

Comparative analysis of the polysaccharides produced by different species of Microcystis (Chroococcales, Cyanophyta)

Phycologia, 1997
Abstract Polysaccharide analyses were performed on cultures of Microcystis aeruginosa f. aeruginosa Kutzing, M. aeruginosa f. flos aquae (Wittrock) Elenkin, M. viridis (A. Brown) Lemmermann, M. wesenbergii Komarek, and toxic (PCC 7941) and nontoxic (PCC 7005) strains of an unidentified Microcystis.

Energy state and toxin content – experiments on Microcystis aeruginosa (Chroococcales, Cyanophyta)

Phycologia, 2000
The correlation between the ratio of microcystin to protein and the energy state of Microcystis aeruginosa NIVA-CYA 228/1 (Chroococcales, Cyanophyta) was examined at three levels of phosphorus and ...
