Approaches to Quantum Remote Memory Attestation

open access: yesIET Quantum Communication, Volume 6, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
We provide a comprehensive analysis of methods for preforming remote memory attestation using quantum communication, and use this to create an improved method. ABSTRACT In this article, we uncover flaws and pitfalls of a quantum‐based remote memory attestation procedure for Internet of things devices.

Improving Vision‐Based Motor Rehabilitation Interactive Systems for Users with Disabilities Using Mirror Feedback

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
Observation is recommended in motor rehabilitation. For this reason, the aim of this study was to experimentally test the feasibility and benefit of including mirror feedback in vision‐based rehabilitation systems: we projected the user on the screen.

3D Micropatterned Traction Force Microscopy: A Technique to Control 3D Cell Shape While Measuring Cell‐Substrate Force Transmission

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 11, Issue 46, December 11, 2024.
The function, mechanics, and 3D shape of cells are related to each other. Here, a technique is developed to control 3D cell shape, while measuring the mechanical forces that cells exert on their environment. It is found that breast epithelial cells transition from pushing to pulling on their environment as their volume is increased. Abstract Cell shape

Rethinking the external globus pallidus and information flow in cortico‐basal ganglia‐thalamic circuits

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neuroscience, Volume 60, Issue 9, Page 6129-6144, November 2024.
The GPe regulates information flow in cortico‐basal ganglia‐thalamic circuits. This nucleus relays ascending and descending signals and serves as a central hub within the CBGT network. Abstract For decades, the external globus pallidus (GPe) has been viewed as a passive way‐station in the indirect pathway of the cortico‐basal ganglia‐thalamic (CBGT ...

Characterizing the Spatial Distribution of Mixing and Transport in the Northern Middle Atmosphere During Winter

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 129, Issue 13, 16 July 2024.
Abstract A three‐dimensional winter (DJF) climatology of Lagrangian diffusivity characterizing eddy mixing and transport in the northern middle atmosphere is presented. To emphasize aspects other than zonal averages, we use the theory of Lagrangian diffusivity (κyy) hitherto not applied in stratospheric contexts to our knowledge.

Some mechanisms leading to underdispersion: Old and new proposals

open access: yesScandinavian Journal of Statistics, Volume 51, Issue 1, Page 245-267, March 2024.
Abstract In statistical modeling, it is important to know the mechanisms that cause underdispersion. Several mechanisms that lead to underdispersed count distributions are revisited from new perspectives, and new ones are introduced. These include procedures based on the number of arrivals in arrival processes, such as renewal and pure birth processes ...
