An annotated list of phytophagous insects on immature black walnut in southern Illinois was compiled between 26 April, 1974, and 9 October, 1975. Approximately 300 species, in 10 orders, were collected by hand-picking and sweeping.

Cicada fossils (Cicadoidea: Tettigarctidae and Cicadidae) with a review of the named fossilised Cicadidae

The Cicadoidea comprise two families, the Cicadidae and the Tettigarctidae. This paper evaluates the status and taxonomy of all named Cicadoidea fossils belonging to the Cicadidae. Shcherbakov (2009) has previously revised the Tettigarctidae. Two new genera are described, Camuracicada gen. n. and Paleopsalta gen.

Thermal responses were measured in cicadas collected in the Eastern Cape Province of South Africa. The thermal responses of 22 species from 5 biomes were determined. Shade-seeking temperature was the most variable and related to the various biomes.
