Management of Persistent Filtering Cicatrix Following Cataract Extraction
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1977We used a safe and simple surgical technique in the management of persistent filtering cicatrices after cataract extraction. The edematous, friable filtering cicatrix was excised entirely and a healthy fornix-based conjunctival flap was sutured over the fistula.

Journal of Neurosurgery, 1990✓ Periodontoid hypertrophic cicatrix resulting from trauma, as demonstrated by magnetic resonance (MR) imaging, is essentially the same as that seen in rheumatoid arthritis. Recent reports suggest that, in rheumatoid arthritis, occipitocervical fusion without transoral decompression of the pannus is adequate for resolution of this anterior lesion.

[Endometriosis of umbilical cicatrix: a case report and review of the literature].
Chirurgia italiana, 2002The present report refers to a case of "primitive" endometriosis of the umbilical scar in a 50-years-old woman who complained of the appearance at the umbilicus of two nodules measuring 7 and 2 mm in diameter. These nodules, which were brownish in colour, were responsible for prickly pain and itching unrelated to the menstrual cycle.
