FRBR & CIDOC-CRM : perspektive harmonizacije

CIDOC CRM in Action – Experiences and Challenges
2007Integration of metadata from heterogeneous sources is a major issue when connecting cultural institutions to digital library networks. Uniform access to metadata is impeded by the structural and semantic heterogeneities of the metadata and metadata schemes used in the source systems.

Modeling and querying provenance by extending CIDOC CRM
Distributed and Parallel Databases, 2010This paper elaborates on the problem of modeling provenance for both physical and digital objects. In particular it discusses provenance according to OAIS (ISO 14721:2003) and how it relates with the conceptualization of CIDOC CRM ontology (ISO 21127:2006).

Automatic Generation of Crosswalks through CIDOC CRM
2012In this paper, we propose an algorithm that automatically generates crosswalks between metadata schemas. The algorithm exploits the mappings between the schemas and the CIDOC Conceptual Reference Model (CRM), defined as part of an ontology-based integration architecture proposed by our research team.

CIDOC CRM and Epigraphy: a Hermeneutic Challenge
2016This paper identifies the main concepts involved in the study of epigraphy and proposes the use of CIDOC CRM to encode epigraphic concepts and to model the scientific process of investigation related to the study of epigraphy. After analysing the existing CIDOC CRM entities and those provided by the CRMsci and CRMarchaeo extensions, we introduce more ...

The domain of social life is quite relevant not only for historical research but of course more generally for humanities and social sciences.

Representing time in documentation using the CIDOC CRM
ArchaeometryAbstract This paper describes the evolution and use of key concepts in the CRM family of standards to document the relationship between the objects and events documented and time. It discusses the differences between phenomenological and declarative time and between absolute and relative dating and how they are implemented in the CRM.
