Transition Metal Compounds as Thermochromic Materials: Classification, Properties, Limitations, and Applications

open access: yesEcoEnergy, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines how different transition metal compounds—such as binary and multinary metal oxides, halides, sulfides, and salts—exhibit thermochromism based on the d‐electron configurations of their transition metal cations. It focuses on three main mechanisms of thermochromism: phase transition, charge transfer, and bandgap change.

Changes in fruit quality parameters and volatile compounds in four wampee varieties at different ripening stages

open access: yesFood Chemistry: X
Wampee is a nutritious fruit with an attractive taste, and its quality and flavor vary significantly at different ripening stages. Here, we comprehensively characterized the flavor quality of four wampee varieties at five ripening stages. The TSS, TSS/TA,

Thermochromic Radiative Cooling Coatings with Robust Superhydrophobicity for Energy‐Efficient Buildings

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A scalable, color‐adaptive radiative cooling coating is developed to enable dynamic spectral regulation via a reversible thermochromic transition at ~45 °C and a high solar reflectance of 91.7%. The coating achieves 4.44 °C outdoor sub‐ambient cooling while providing robust superhydrophobicity and environmental durability through its micro/nano ...

Dual‐Mode Electrophoretic Displays Enabled by Quantum Dot‐Decorated PR48:2 Pigment Particles and TiO2 for All‐Weather Visibility, Excellent Bistability, and Enhanced Readability

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
This study presents a novel quantum dot electrophoretic display (QDEPD), which combines electro‐controlled reflection and optically‐triggered emission to achieve efficient multi‐modal switching within a single pixel. By incorporating multi‐component nanostructures, the system enhances functional integration and multi‐modal response capabilities.

The application of CIE LAB to study trapping efficiency

open access: yes, 1988
It has been known that apparent trapping percentages caused by changing printing sequence (or printing order) affect the color appearance of the overprint areas. However, no other studies in the past were done in a standard color measurement system- that

Synthesis and Characterization of Novel Silylated Sm3+ and Eu3+ Complexes Incorporated Into Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, EarlyView.
The strategy of incorporating the Eu(tta‐Si)3(phen) and Sm(tta‐Si)3(phen)2 complexes prevented leaching of the complexes and preserved their intrinsic optical properties. Preliminary studies of silylated Ln3+ complexes and nanoparticles loaded with these complexes demonstrated cytotoxicity against cancer cells, with minimal cytotoxic effect on nontumor
