Windows Detection Using K-means in CIE-Lab Color Space

2010 20th International Conference on Pattern Recognition, 2010
In this paper, we present a method for window detection, robust enough to process complex facades of historical buildings. This method is able to provide results even for facades under severe perspective distortion. Our algorithm is able to detect many different window types and does not require a learning step.

Color recognition of landmarks using FIS and CIE LAB

2016 International Conference on Fuzzy Theory and Its Applications (iFuzzy), 2016
Human eyes acquire numerous information and analyze an environment from day to day. Vision sensor is similar to that of human eye. One of research areas of vision sensor is driving control. The role of vision sensor is essential to control driving by controlling system such as automatic car and autonomous guided vehicle not human.

Forensic discrimination of glass using cathodoluminescence and CIE LAB color coordinates: A feasibility study

Forensic Science International, 2009
Cathodoluminescence (CL) spectroscopy has been shown to be useful for differentiating typical evidentiary glass samples. CL occurs when a surface is bombarded with an electron beam as in scanning electron microscopy and most of this luminescence is in the visible range.

Fast Surface Grading Using Color Statistics in the CIE Lab Space

2005
In this paper we approach the problem of fast surface grading of flat pieces decorated with random patterns. The proposed method is based on the use of global statistics of color computed in the CIE Lab space. Two other fast methods based on color histograms [1] and Centile-LBP features [8] are introduced for comparison purposes.

Effect of post-harvest drying process on chlorogenic acids, antioxidant activities and CIE-Lab color of Thai Arabica green coffee beans

Food Chemistry, 2022
Drying process affected the qualitative indicators of green coffees; chlorogenic acid (CGAs), total phenolic content (TPC), antioxidant activities and CIE-lab color to varying degrees. Sun drying and heat pump drying resulted in comparable levels of CGAs and antioxidant activities in green coffees; however, color parameters, especially lightness (L ...

Performance of CIE LAB-Based Color Difference Formulae under Different Viewing Conditions

Advanced Materials Research, 2012
In order to investigate the performance of color difference formulae under different viewing conditions 144 pairs of sample around 17 color centers were designed and printed, and then assessed visually under four different viewing condition. STRESS values between the visual color difference and calculated color difference by five CIELAB-based color ...

Research on Color Space Conversion Model from CMYK to CIE-LAB Based on GRNN

2018
In order to reproduce color information accurately in cross media transmission, a color space conversion model from CMYK color space to CIE-LAB based on generalized regression neural network (GRNN) was proposed. According to the structure and mathematical model of GRNN neural network, the CMYK-LAB color space conversion model was established.

Linear Regression between CIE-Lab Color Parameters and Organic Matter in Soils of Tea Plantations

Eurasian Soil Science, 2018
To quantify the relationship between the soil organic matter and color parameters using the CIE-Lab system, 62 soil samples (0–10 cm, Ferralic Acrisols) from tea plantations were collected from southern China. After air-drying and sieving, numerical color information and reflectance spectra of soil samples were measured under laboratory conditions ...

Age related tooth color changes according to CIE Lab color scale

2020
Introduction: Aging is a normal biological process in which the human body is changing irreversibly. Oral tissues also are not spared from that process. In general, tooth color is a very important reason for better self-confidence at any age. Aim: The purpose of this study was to determinate how aging affects tooth color, and to show how is tooth color
