Testing CIELAB-based color-difference formulas
Color Research & Application, 2000The CMC, BFD, and CIE94 color-difference for- mulas have been compared throughout their weighting functions to the CIELAB componentsDL*, DC*, DH*, and from their performance with respect to several wide data- sets from old and recent literature. Predicting the magni- tude of perceived color differences, a statistically significant improvement upon ...

CIELAB color variables as indicators of compost stability
Waste Management, 2009The composting process of different organic wastes both in laboratory and on a large-scale was characterized using CIELAB color variables to evaluate compost stability for the better application in agriculture. The time courses of the CIELAB variables of composting materials were determined directly from the bottom of a glass petri dish filled with ...

A Modified Color Appearance Model of CIELAB
2009 International Asia Conference on Informatics in Control, Automation and Robotics, 2009A new controllable color appearance model (CAM) called QLAB is presented based on CIELAB. QLAB is derived from the perceptually uniform CIELAB color model, and is provided with perceptual representation way extracted from HSB color model. The QLAB offers a regular form and perceptual uniformity color model to designers.

Stomach cancer detection using CIELAB color space
2019 Medical Technologies Congress (TIPTEKNO), 2019Stomach cancer is the fourth most common cancer in the world. In addition, this type of cancer ratio is increasing in Turkey. Therefore, in this study, results of preliminary studies of a vision-based approach is presented. In this approach, RGB - CIELAB color space conversion method is applied to the endoscopy images in the data set by using MATLAB ...

Natural Image Segmentation Using the CIELab Space
2009 International Conference on Electrical, Communications, and Computers, 2009In this work, we have tested a color based segmentation approach that uses the CIELab color space. We use a color reduction approach where the dominant color database is obtained from the analysis of the entire Berkeley natural image database. After experiments using single color components and all their possible combinations as the segmentation basis,

Extending CIELAB: Vividness, , depth, , and clarity,
Color Research & Application, 2013AbstractCIE L*, a*, b* is a rectangular coordinate system used extensively for numerical color communication and quality assurance. Often the a*, b* coordinates are rotated to cylindrical polar coordinates of (radial distance) and hab (angle measured counterclockwise from the a* axis), reasonably relating to chroma and hue.

Color pattern recognition with CIELAB coordinates
Optical Engineering, 2002A color pattern recognition system must identify a target by its shape and color distribution. In real situations, however, the color information is affected by changes of the light source (e.g., from indoor illumination to outdoor daylight), often making recognition impossible.

Comparison of the CIELab and CIEDE2000 color difference formulas
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2016Many color specification systems and color differences have been proposed to improve the correlation between color measurement and visual perception. Although color differences can be quantified using either the CIELab formula (ΔE*(ab)) or the recently introduced CIEDE2000 formula (ΔE00), which captures the perceived color difference better is unknown ...

COLOUR EVALUATION ON RED WINEGRAPES BY CIELAB PARAMETERS
Acta Horticulturae, 2012Grape must and wine colour is traditionally assessed by several indexes calculated after measuring absorbance at 420, 520 and 620 nm. In the last years tristimulus colorimetry (mainly CIELab colour space) is increasingly used in research and wineries, since it seems to be a more accurate method to evaluate wine colour, especially at hue junctions when ...
