Threshold Effects in Cigarette Addiction: An Application of the Threshold Model in Dynamic Panels [PDF]

open access: yes
We adopt the threshold model of myopic cigarette addiction to US state-level panel data. The threshold model is used to identify the structural effects of cigarette demand determinants across the income stratification.

Machine learning‐based prediction of elevated N terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide among US general population

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 859-868, April 2025.
Abstract Aims Natriuretic peptide‐based pre‐heart failure screening has been proposed in recent guidelines. However, an effective strategy to identify screening targets from the general population, more than half of which are at risk for heart failure or pre‐heart failure, has not been well established.

Cardiovascular toxicity induced by TKIs in patients with chronic myeloid leukaemia: Are women and men different?

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, Volume 12, Issue 2, Page 1447-1454, April 2025.
This study analyzes 148 patients (66 women and 82 men) with chronic myeloid leukemia treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors, focusing on cardiovascular adverse events. The risk assessment, performed using the HFA/ICOS score, reveals sex‐specific differences: venous thrombosis is more common in women, while arterial thrombosis predominates in men.

Experimental study on optimisation of regeneration time of softened water exchanger under salt washing condition

open access: yesLHB Hydroscience Journal
The regeneration time of the softened water exchanger plays a crucial role in the softened water system. An appropriate regeneration time can not only ensure the normal operation of the softened water system, but also effectively save energy.
