Histone Deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) in Ciliopathies: Emerging Insights and Therapeutic Implications
HDAC6 regulates primary cilia, crucial for cellular signalling and environmental responses. Dysregulation of HDAC6 contributes to ciliopathies, affecting multiple organs. This review examines HDAC6's role in ciliogenesis, its interaction with signaling molecules, and its potential as a therapeutic target.

Fractional Burgers Fluid Flow Due to Metachronal Ciliary Motion in an Inclined Tube
Cilia-induced flow of fractional Burgers fluid is studied in an inclined tube for both symplectic and antiplectic wave patterns. The solution of the problem is persued under the long wave length limitation.

Multiple cell types in the oviduct express the prolactin receptor
Little is known about the physiological role of prolactin in the oviduct. Examining mRNA for all four isoforms of the prolactin receptor (PRLR) in mice by functional oviduct segment and stage of the estrous cycle, we found short form 3 (SF3) to be the ...

Gli2a protein localization reveals a role for Iguana/DZIP1 in primary ciliogenesis and a dependence of Hedgehog signal transduction on primary cilia in the zebrafish [PDF]
Background: In mammalian cells, the integrity of the primary cilium is critical for proper regulation of the Hedgehog (Hh) signal transduction pathway.

HDAC6 and USP9X Control Glutamine Metabolism by Stabilizing GS to Promote Glioblastoma Tumorigenesis
Glioblastoma (GBM) growth relies on glutamine synthetase (GS), which is stabilized by histone deacetylase 6 (HDAC6) and deubiquitinated by ubiquitin‐specific peptidase 9, X‐linked (USP9X). HDAC6 promotes GS deacetylation, while USP9X removes its K48‐linked polyubiquitination, enhancing GS stability.

Asymmetry in cilia configuration induces hydrodynamic phase locking [PDF]
To gain insight into the nature of biological synchronization at the microscopic scale, we here investigate the hydrodynamic synchronization between conically rotating objects termed nodal cilia. A mechanical model of three rotating cilia is proposed with consideration of variation in their shapes and geometrical arrangement.
