Ipsilateral ciliary body schwannoma and ciliary body melanoma in a child
Journal of American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, 2010An 11-year-old boy presented with a mid-zonal pigment epithelial iris cyst. The cyst progressed relentlessly, ultimately leading to enucleation of the eye 4 years after presentation. Histopathology revealed a ciliary body schwannoma filling the anterior chamber and a small, incidental noncontiguous ciliary body melanoma.

Neurilemoma of the Ciliary Body
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1956The neurilemoma, a benign nerve sheath tumor, has been reported in the orbit a number of times.1Intraocular examples, however, are rare. The following case is reported for this reason, and, in addition, the clinical history is of considerable interest, since the tumor in this instance closely simulated an intraocular malignant melanoma.

Melanocytoma of the Ciliary Body
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1964Zimmerman 1 presented evidence of a locally invasive, nonmalignant, primary melanotic tumor of the optic disc which arose from normal uveal melanocytes. This tumor was benign, over half of the reported cases were in Negroes, and it offered an excellent prognosis.

Two groups were distinguished on basis of gross features of the opaque cysts. Group 1 consisted of six myeloma cases, with numerous large distinctive cysts. Cavitary Melanocytoma of the Ciliary Body
Ophthalmologica, 2010The clinical and pathologic findings of a patient with an unusual cavitary melanocytoma of the ciliary body are presented. Clinically and with ultrasonography the lesion appeared to have a cystic component. Differential diagnoses included a malignant melanoma or a cyst, and the lesion was excised by iridocyclectomy.

Mesectodermal Leiomyoma of Ciliary Body

Glioneuroma of Iris and Ciliary Body
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1984A 20-year-old woman was noted to have progressive cataractous changes in the left eye for two years. Ophthalmic examination showed a yellow-pink mass in the iris root (between the 8- to 10- o'clock positions, facing the patient). No associated colobomatous defect was present.

Pseudomelanoma of the Ciliary Body
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1967This paper reports a very unusual case of a melanocytoma (nevus) of the ciliary body with involvement of the overlying sclera which masqueraded as a malignant melanoma. Report of Patient A 62-year-old white man noted that a dark growth was present on his left sclera at the 4:30 o'clock meridian for about five months.

Ciliary Body Temperatures in Cryosurgery
Archives of Ophthalmology, 1971Intraocular temperatures were investigated during cryosurgery of the ciliary body in albino rabbit eyes. A significant temperature differential was noted between the temperature of the cryosurgical probe and the temperature within the involved tissue.
