Selectivity control in Pt-catalyzed cinnamaldehyde hydrogenation [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2015
AbstractChemoselectivity is a cornerstone of catalysis, permitting the targeted modification of specific functional groups within complex starting materials. Here we elucidate key structural and electronic factors controlling the liquid phase hydrogenation of cinnamaldehyde and related benzylic aldehydes over Pt nanoparticles.

Litsea cubeba Essential Oil Reduces Postharvest Blueberry Rot by Inducing Cell Membrane Damage and Reactive Oxygen Species Accumulation in Alternaria alternata

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
Litsea cubeba essential oil (LCEO) reduces blueberry rot while maintaining quality. It disrupts the cellular structure and membranes of Alternaria alternata, causing solute leakage, while simultaneously inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) damage in the pathogen.

Evaluation of Acute Exposure to Combustible and Novel Tobacco Products Using an In Vitro Human Airway Organ Tissue Equivalent Model

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Despite the well‐known risks of tobacco use, tobacco exposure remains a major contributor to morbidity and mortality worldwide. Although cigarette use has declined, the popularity of novel tobacco products (NTPs), such as electronic cigarettes (ECs) and heated tobacco products (HTPs), has increased.

Topical Application of Cinnamaldehyde Promotes Faster Healing of Skin Wounds Infected with Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesMolecules, 2019
Wound healing can be delayed following colonization and infection with the common bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa. While multiple therapies are used for their treatment, these are ineffective, expensive, and labour-intensive.

Influence of Phosphoramidites in Copper-Catalyzed Conjugate Borylation Reaction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Copper(I) has become the preferred metal to catalyze the β-boration of α,β-unsaturated carbonyl compounds, and now we demonstrate that easily accessible monodentate chiral ligands, such as phosphoramidites and phosphites, can be convenient alternative ...

Matrine Attenuates Neurological Deficits and Neuroinflammation by Inhibiting the HMGB1/RAGE Axis and Ferroptosis in Intracerebral Hemorrhage Mice

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a life‐threatening stroke subtype that lacks effective drug therapy. In the context of ICH, neuroinflammation, and ferroptosis are key contributors to secondary brain injury. In this study, we assessed the neuroprotective effects of matrine (MAT) and its mechanism of action involving the HMGB1/RAGE axis in an ...

Aliphatic Poly(Carbonate)s with Acid Responsive Release Mechanisms for Micellar Anti‐Tumor Drug Delivery

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Micellar systems based on biodegradable aliphatic polycarbonates and acid‐responsive triggers enhance drug solubility, stability, and tumor‐selective release. This review covers micelles with acid‐cleavable drug linkages and those that disassemble via acid‐sensitive functionalities.
