The CIP2A-TOPBP1 complex safeguards chromosomal stability during mitosis [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
In this work, CIP2A is discovered as a TOPBP1-interacting protein that regulates TOPBP1 localization specifically in mitosis. Cells lacking CIP2A display increased radio-sensitivity, micronuclei formation and chromosomal instability.

Penfluridol inhibits melanoma growth and metastasis through enhancing von Hippel‒Lindau tumor suppressor‐mediated cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) degradation [PDF]

open access: yesMedComm
Melanoma's high metastatic potential, especially to the brain, poses significant challenges to patient survival. The blood‒brain barrier (BBB) is a major obstacle to the effective treatment of melanoma brain metastases.

CIP2A Constrains Th17 Differentiation by Modulating STAT3 Signaling [PDF]

open access: yesiScience, 2020
Summary: Cancerous Inhibitor of Protein Phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) is an oncogene and a potential cancer therapy target protein. Accordingly, a better understanding of the physiological function of CIP2A, especially in the context of immune cells, is a ...

The CIP2A-TOPBP1 axis facilitates mitotic DNA repair via MiDAS and MMEJ [PDF]

open access: yesNature Communications
Mitotic DNA double-strand breaks (DSBs) accumulate in response to replication stress or BRCA1/2 deficiency posing a significant threat to genome stability as repair by non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) and homologous recombination (HR) is largely ...

CIP2A induces PKM2 tetramer formation and oxidative phosphorylation in non-small cell lung cancer [PDF]

open access: yesCell Discovery
Tumor cells are usually considered defective in mitochondrial respiration, but human non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) tumor tissues are shown to have enhanced glucose oxidation relative to adjacent benign lung.

The Role of an Oncoprotein CIP2A in Breast Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Cancerous inhibitor of PP2A (CIP2A) is an oncoprotein expressed in several human cancer types. Previously, CIP2A has been shown to promote proliferation of cancer cells. Mechanistically, CIP2A is known to inhibit activity of a tumor suppressor protein

Reciprocal regulation of CIP2A and AR expression in prostate cancer cells

open access: yesDiscover Oncology, 2022
Cancerous inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (CIP2A) is an oncoprotein overexpressed in human malignancies, including prostate cancer (PCa). In this study, we aimed to explore the oncogenic function of CIP2A in PCa cells and its underlying mechanism. We

Downregulation of CIP2A inhibits cancer cell proliferation and vascularization in renal clear cell carcinoma

open access: yesBiomedical Papers, 2020
Background: CIP2A has been proved to play a role as an oncogene in various types of malignancies while its functionality in renal clear cell carcinoma has not been investigated.
