Geometric optimization of bodies submitted to an intense heat flux using bifurcated channel nets
The present work studies the geometric optimization of a body submitted to intense heat flux. The body to be optimized is refrigerated by a ducts system whose circulating fluid will remove the heat.

Editorial Preface<br>Special Issue on Bioconvergence
In the summer of 2009, we conceived a special issue of MediaTropes on the theme of “bioconvergence.” We sent out an initial circular to measure interest and solicited abstracts from scholars across disciplines.

Sertraline Treatment Can Mimic Niemann‐Pick Type C Biomarker Profile: A Diagnostic Pitfall
ABSTRACT Background Oxysterols (cholestane‐3β,5α,6β‐triol and 7‐ketocholesterol) and N‐palmitoyl‐O‐phosphocholineserine (PPCS) are sensitive biomarkers for Niemann‐Pick disease type C (NPC) screening. However, false‐positive results occur, with a biomarker profile suggestive of NPC despite the absence of pathogenic variants in genes involved in NPC or ...

Detection of circular permutations by Protein Language Models
Protein circular permutations are crucial for understanding protein evolution and functionality. Traditional detection methods face challenges: sequence-based approaches struggle with detecting distant homologs, while structure-based approaches are ...

Bi-normal trajectories in the circular restricted three-body problem
Abstract In this note, we study existence of infinitely many trajectories bi-normal (i.e. normal at initial and final times) to the xz-plane in the Spatial Circular Restricted Three-Body problem, in the convexity range and near the primaries, under the assumption of the twist condition as defined by Moreno–van-Koert in [10].

Supersonic flow past quasi-cylindrical bodies of almost circular cross-section [PDF]
The supersonic flow over bodies for which the surface boundary condition may be satisfied on a circular cylinder is considered. The method is based on the linearised small-perturbation theory of supersonic flow.

Artificial halo orbits for low-thrust propulsion spacecraft
We consider periodic halo orbits about artificial equilibrium points near to the Lagrange points L1 and L2 in the circular restricted three-body problem, where the third body is a low-thrust propulsion spacecraft in the Sun-Earth system.

Thermal optimization of circular bodies submitted to an intense heat flux using constructal design
The present work studies the optimization of a circular body with an intense heat flux by Constructal Design. The problem concerns the minimization of the global thermal resistance of a three-dimensional structure submitted to an intense uniform heat ...
