Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 2001
This paper presents a simplified approach to determine the end depth of a free overfall in horizontal or mildly sloping circular channels. The flow over a free overfall in a circular channel is simulated by that over a sharp-crested weir to calculate the end-depth ratio (EDR).

Circular Convolutional Auto-Encoder for Channel Coding
2019 IEEE 20th International Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC), 2019In this article, we investigate deep auto-encoders for channel coding to combat the curse of dimensionality commonly existing in learning based coding. Inspired by convolutional codes, we use hierarchical convolutional layers in both the encoder and the decoder.

Circular implementation of vector-channel lattices
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 1992Discusses the circular (or periodic) implementation of vector-channel least-squares lattice filters. The resulting algorithm eliminates matrix inversions and greatly reduces matrix multiplications. Complete residual and AR coefficient algorithms are provided, as well as initialization and other implementation issues.

Venturi Flumes for Circular Channels
Journal of the Irrigation and Drainage Division, 1976The purpose of this paper is to present some experimental results for Venturi flumes of the design. While these designs may be used also as Venturimeters for full pipe flow, the results given herein refer only to open-channel flow is supercritical and a jump forms a short distance upstream of the flume. Information about the limiting submergence of the

Backwater Curves in Circular Channels
Journal of Irrigation and Drainage Engineering, 1991Backwater curves in circular sewers and drainage conduits are considered by an explicit approach. The new method is based on simple expressions for uniform and critical flows, and a transformation of the longitudinal coordinate by which the effect of relative uniform flow depth may be incorporated.

Permanent heavy waves in circular‐shaped channels
Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1995AbstractBecause of the earth's curvature, all existing channels have a curvature. E. Zeidler gave an existence and uniqueness proof for permanent heavy and capillar‐heavy waves in such circular shaped channels. Based on this proof and on a general computational method for constructing the solutions numerically, the case of permanent heavy waves in ...

Brink Depth for a Circular Channel
Journal of the Hydraulics Division, 1962The relationship between the discharge and the depth at the brink of a freely discharging circular section is investigated. Through application of the momentum equation between a section upstream from the brink and a section downstream from the brink, the limits for the brink depth are established from theory.
