Natural Convection from Two Hot Semi-Circular Cylinder Confined in Cold Circular Cylinder
Defect and Diffusion Forum, 2021Numerical simulations were performed to study the pertinent parameters of natural convection in annular space. The studied geometry consists of two semi-circular cylinders of hot walls confined in cold cavity of circular cross-sectional form. The simulations were done by solving numerically the governing equations via the commercial software ANSYS-CFX.

Coupled wakes behind two circular cylinders
Physical Review A, 1990The wake of a pair of identical cylinders placed side by side in a uniform flow is visualized. Different flows appear when the distance between the cylinders is decreased. For large gaps, the study of the phase difference between the vortex shedding shows that locking occurs and can be associated with asymmetric flows.

Charged Right Circular Cylinder
Journal of Applied Physics, 1956A new method permits the calculation of the electric field surrounding a charged conducting surface of revolution without the use of orthogonal functions. Detailed formulas show how to find the charge density on a right circular cylinder with any desired precision.

2006
The main objective of the present study is to analyse the turbulence properties in unsteady, strongly detached flows and to provide a database for improvement and validation of turbulence models, concerning the present class of non-equilibrium flows. The flow around a circular cylinder with a low aspect ratio (L/D=4.8) and a high blockage coefficient ...

Fresnel diffraction at circular cylinders
International Journal of Modern Physics C, 2022Fresnel diffraction is a fundamental wave phenomenon happening near the shadow boundary behind a large opaque object. Previously, it was studied for the case of diffraction at large apertures in a black screen. In this paper, we investigate this phenomenon for perfectly conducting cylinders with large cross-sections.

Flow Behind Two Coaxial Circular Cylinders
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 1982The flow behind two circular cylinders of different diameters, which were joined coaxially has been examined at the Reynolds number of 8 × 104. The detailed pressure spectral measurements indicate the shedding and the distributions of the pressure fluctuations of the vortex wakes associated with the big and small cylinders.

Transonic flow about a circular cylinder
Computers & Fluids, 1989Abstract Transonic flows governed by the Euler equations, about half and full circular cylinders, are investigated numerically. The tool to carry out this study is a finite-difference method based upon an upwind hybrid formulation, a blend of the “lambda” and the “flux-difference splitting” formulations. In the case of the half cylinder, a separation

The Axially Loaded Circular Cylinder
Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1962Commencing with Kelvin’s closed-form solution to the problem of a concentrated force acting at a given point in an indefinitely extended solid, a Fourier transform method is used to obtain an exact solution for the case when the force acts along the axis of a circular cylinder.
