The Circular Law for random regular digraphs [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales de l'Institut Henri Poincaré, Probabilités et Statistiques, 2019
Let $\log^Cn\le d\le n/2$ for a sufficiently large constant $C>0$ and let $A_n$ denote the adjacency matrix of a uniform random $d$-regular directed graph on $n$ vertices. We prove that as $n$ tends to infinity, the empirical spectral distribution of $A_n$, suitably rescaled, is governed by the Circular Law.

A Workflow to Accelerate Microstructure‐Sensitive Fatigue Life Predictions

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a workflow to accelerate predictions of microstructure‐sensitive fatigue life. Results from frameworks with varying levels of simplification are benchmarked against published reference results. The analysis reveals a trade‐off between accuracy and model complexity, offering researchers a practical guide for selecting the optimal ...

Investigation of Heat Transfer and Pressure Distribution in Power Law Fluids Flowing through a Rectangular Channel Blocked by a Single Heated Circular Cylinder at Inlet

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2022
In this paper, the flow of a power law fluid has been investigated for Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids with the temperature distribution in a rectangular channel containing a heated circular cylinder near the inlet with different blockage ratios.

A Thermodynamic 3D Model for the Simulation of Diffusion‐Controlled Alloying Processes in Heterogeneous Material Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A numerical model resulting from irreversible thermodynamics for describing transport processes is introduced, focusing on thermodynamic activity gradients as the actual driving force for diffusion. Implemented in CUDA C++ and using CalPhaD methods for determining the necessary activity data, the model accurately simulates interdiffusion in aluminum ...

Complex Hermite polynomials: from the semi-circular law to the circular law

open access: yesCommunications on Stochastic Analysis, 2008
Summary: We study asymptotics of orthogonal polynomial measures of the form \(|\mathcal H_N|^2d\gamma\) where \(\mathcal H_N\) are real or complex Hermite polynomials with respect to the Gaussian measure \(\gamma\). By means of differential equations on Laplace transforms, interpolation between the (real) arcsine law and the (complex) uniform ...

EBSD Study of Creep‐Induced Lattice Misorientation in MgO‐Particle‐Reinforced Austenitic Steel Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Creep experiments at 900°C on coarse‐grained steel‐ceramic composites containing recycled magnesia reveal that higher ceramic volume fractions significantly enhance the creep resistance. Detailed EBSD investigations identify subgrain formation in the steel matrix as the dominant deformation mechanism.

Investigation of Oxygen‐Free Wetting Behavior of Aluminum on Copper via Molecular Dynamics Simulations and Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.
